how to correctly point rc

Featured Replies

Hi AllI have not been flying much for the past year due to my VA being hacked out of existence---but with the arrival if the New ifLY 737ng my appetite for SIM Flying has been renewed--Now I am back to using my RC and find that I am having trouble with the program--how do I point the program at the correct file where the FSX flight plans are storedThanks for any helpDorn Cranert

They are stored with your flt/wxr files in your My Documents/Flight Simulator X files.First set your flt/wxr paths navigating to Documents and Settings/User Name/My Documents/Flight Simulator X and save that. When you click on Load FS200x Pln if you are not there navigate to that same folder and your .pln files should be listed for you to highlight and OK.The last path used is saved. This works just like the Explorer browser for navigation.

I am having trouble following the path because I am not allowed access to the Documents and setting folder--what do I do?

You are probably on VISTA or Win 7:Set up a shortcut to RC. Right click on the shortcut and set its advanced properties to run as administrator. If you scroll up in the window, also, for setting the flt/wxr path the forst item is My Documents under Desktop. Click on the + sign and that will expand. Click on Flight Simulator X Files and OK it.You also may need to set yourself up with admin rights as well but once the shortcut for RC is set to run as admin you should be OK.User access privileges and program access privileges are two separate issues.

RonzieThanks you so much for this very helpfull post---I had this issue in the past--I even ended up buying a few extra copies of RC trying to fix it---this is a very clear explanation and will be of great help--I am trying to get my sim back in shape to enjoy the two new 737NG's which are comming into playAgain much thanksCheersDorn

Unless instructed otherwise you do not need to purchase extra copies of the same major version of RC to do a repair say due to a disk reformat. Post here for instructions if you have a problem registering again. If you download your software it always is a good idea to back up your software download and keep a text copy on that backup CD of the e-mail that returned your registration key.
