Jetstream 41 Left Avionic Button

Featured Replies

Today I tried flying the J41 with FS2Crew.I programmed the FMS befor starting the engines and in one of the procudures you usually turn of the Avionic button so that my FMS would turn off again. To prevent it from going off I switched the Left avionic switch on as soon as it was of. But shortly after that this thing to secure the switch (This yellow thing, however it's called) went into the position which usually applies after the switch is turned off. Now the left avionic was off (with the switch still in the on position) and it couldn't be pressed anylonger. So I had every instrument on the captains side of the panel dark and I wasn't able to turn it on again. Can someone help me and tell me how I can get my intruments working again if this appears again without restarting the flightsim? Thanks for your help.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

The FMS runs off the 28V DC Emergency Switched Avionics Busbar. So the position of the Avionics Master switches (which control the Left/Right Essential Avionics Busbars) should have no effect on the GNS-XLS.Not sure about the behavior of the switch prevent you from turning it on again. (Bug?)However, a loss/change of DC electricity will result in the FMS getting turned off/zapped. This can happen when you have you switch the GPU off w/o the batteries/gen switches not on.so..to not lose your FMS there...Ensure after engine start both gens onlineAvionics masters on BEFORE switching GPU offThen you should be all good. Shouldn't have to play with the avionics switches that way to keep your FMS going.

You should just have to click the yellow button to set it out of the way, and then click the avionics switch.Patrick answered the electronics question.
