I've heard this quite a lot but you don't need the 600/700 to make the 800/900 work.I use ONLY the 800-900, in fact I haven't even got the 600/700 installed and I never have any issues with it.Best use one or the other.I think it was all to do with upgrading the particular model.Hope that helpsAlan W

looks like were both in the same boat when it comes to 8 900 ive notaced some diffrencs between 8 900 i have in the box and 8 900 on pmdg site for intance if u look at the panel select icons the last icon is an I were as in my 8 900 its a C for chrono so i can asume that in the begining there was (light) 737 600 700 standard latter comeing 737 800 900 standard then 737 600 700 ng and the advertized 737 800 900 must be the NG veriant i need to compleat the NG seires i think that makes sense Deltic

Back quite awhile ago, Aerosoft sold both a 600/700 package and 800/900 package. Their 800/900 CD stood alone without the need for the 600/700. (When you register Aerosoft products on their site you get access to their FAQ and service packs.) On PMDG's downloads then the 800/900 required the 600/700 to be installed.I bought the Aerosoft CDs and installation required a specific order if you had both products. (I just preferred the boxed products for the minimal extra cost.)Today Aerosoft has both products in one box or each product separately:http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?show80,5833571350http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd80!0,5833571350,11787 at 35.99 US 600/700/800/900http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd80!0,5833571350,02005 at 23.99 US 600/700http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd80!0,5833571350,02005 at 23.99 US 800/900 (stand alone unless changed see requirements)Initially if you had the Aerosoft's 800/900 installed you had to uninstall it before adding the 600/700, service packs, then reinstall your 800/900 followed by its service packs. This is because the 800/900 updates the 600/700 panels among other things.Usually blank instruments also can mean a problem with the PMDGoptions.dll in your modules folder. You can find threads on that in this forum.(With the airlines I emulate most of the time in US and Europe in FS2004 I'm mostly flying the 700 and 800. I also have numerous Aerosoft airport scenery suites as well.)

Be sure you do register the boxed products in the lower left section of the Aerosoft home page under FAQs once you have your CD keys. Check for instruction updates and service packs. The correct link for the 800/900 is:http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd80!0,5833571350,02210Sorry for the error. You use the standard PMDG site livery installations with these if desired. If you are in a purchasing mood for training in addition to the excellent PMDG hard copy and .pdf documents I recommend the following publication by (retired) CaptainMike Ray specifically for the 737 series on FS:http://www.utem.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4With all kinds of practical comments it takes you through a few tutorials for 'manual' flight up through using the FMC. He adds notes about runway/weather decision go/no-go, icing, etc. It is not a systems training manual. I have it and if needed refer to the PMDG .pdf manuals or the abbreviated hard copy manuals that are packaged with the Aerosoft boxed versions. It is on Amazon as well.http://www.amazon.com/Flying-Boeing-700-Flight-Simulators/dp/0936283106/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1306792575&sr=1-1both sources priced at about $30 USD.
