June 15, 201114 yr Author Hi,OK about the times. Please note that your active station is marked as Suppressed.Please post the Options/General Options screen and the Cloud Options screen.Hi Jim,why suppressed and also updated in FS9?My Suppress-slider ist set to 200.no screen, all ASE settigns here:[Options]FSVersion = FS9DynamicRateofChangePercent = 0VATSIMDownloads = FalseAutomaticDownloadInterval = 30AutomaticDownloads = TrueCAVOKCloudGenerationPercent = 1NoDataCloudGenerationPercent = 40CirrusCloudGenerationPercent = 50MaximumCloudLayers = 99MinimumCloudTurbulencePercent = 0MaximumCloudTurbulencePercent = 100MinimumCloudIcingPercent = 0MaximumCloudIcingPercent = 0StratusCloudOccurrencePercent = 1MinimumVisibilitySM = 0MaximumVisibilitySM = 120MaximumUpperVisibilitySM = 60MaximumSurfaceWindSpeed = 200MinimumWindTurbulencePercent = 0MaximumWindTurbulencePercent = 100MinimumWindShearPercent = 20MaximumWindShearPercent = 100DisableWindsAloft = FalseWakeTurbulenceStrength = 20CreateVirtualStations = FalseEnhanceRouteCoverage = FalseDepictHurricanes = FalseEnableSkyScapeMode = FalseUseSkyScapeforStratus = FalseForceHighPriority = TrueUpdateRange = 200EnableWindSmoothing = TrueEnableVisibilityGraduation = FalseEnableFogLayerSimulation = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueSuppressionRange = 200StartupWave = FalseDatFileOverwriteUserEdit = 0ShowSimMessages = FalseSupressOnGround = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalseVoiceATIS = TruePreventFSXCloudRedraws = TruePreventTstormsWithCB = FalseThermalGenerationRatePercent = 10UpandDowndraftGenerationRatePercent = 10MaximumDowndraftRate = 1000MaximumUpdraftThermalRate = 1000EnableDirectWindControl = FalseDisableHazeLayer = TrueFogLayerGeneration = TrueSuppressionCeiling = 5000FSXDepictionMode = StandardGraduationCeiling = 24000

June 23, 201114 yr Author Hi,thanks for Reply, but your setting did not help in this trouble.Yesterday over southern germany and austria heavy thunderstorms in the area (great area)but with ASE the stormes come and gone, then they come and gone....also with your setting.i think, ASE have a lot of troubles with thunderstorms in FS9.with all normal clouds no problem, but thunderstorms....that is a great problem in reality of ASE!hope you can get an version, that can depict thunderstorms also....ASE like your setting, and FSUIPC and FS9 weather cahnges off.lg
June 26, 201114 yr Jim I notieced yessterday there was a big difference with could popping when I use snapshots or not with FSX. The none snapshot flight had much more realistic clouds and weather, but I did experience cloud popping and I was around thunderstorms over Saint Louis. On my return flight I had installed my snapshots and got nice little puffy clouds below me at 31000 feet, although there were thunderstorms in the area, but no cloud popping.Whats your ideas about snapshots and what do they add?ThanksBob
June 26, 201114 yr Hi,Snapshots are groups of environmental textures. They have nothing to do with weather or weather depiction. They also have nothing to do with cloud pops. Whether you use them or not doesn't really matter because FSX will use whatever textures are installed at the time you start up FSX.
June 27, 201114 yr For users of X Graphics, REX, or any other FSX texture programs to have groups of textures cataloged by weather conditions for loading into FSX before starting FSX.
July 5, 201114 yr Author Back to the Roots:ist there any Solution for the popping thunderstorm- problem?i think it is ASE - it is suppressing all clouds higher then FL 270 (against cirrus..)I hope you can make in ASE:give us user a chance to set the maximum height for cloud-level,like the setting for the visibility-graduation height.so we can make it possible, that in summer the clouds rising up in highter level!Yes- it is real that thunderstorms are rising up to FL450 and above.Yes, i have seen in real cumulusclouds up to FL 370!but with ASE its not possible to depct such clouds.hope you can make this dream real.then ASE is really the best weathermaker for FS.greetings from Austria,Alti
July 23, 201114 yr Author Hi,no commend about popping thunderstorms and unrealistic none-high clouds in ASE?What did your programmers say about this??HIFI, please wake up!
July 23, 201114 yr Hi,We are so sorry, I thought you were stating your wishes for the future in the " I hope you can......" paragraph.Yes, clouds are suppressed above 25K. It is not a bug, but a necessary solution for another problem. There was only one other report of this and enabling time sync in FSUIPC SEEMED to solve this for that user.We cannot reproduce this no matter what we try.You can try changing this option to True:PreventTstormsWithCB = False
