An overwhelming transfer to FSX

Featured Replies

If you can swing two SSD's you sure won't be sorry. I'm using one regular drive for the OS, program files and X86 programs and a 10,000rpm Velociraptor for FSX. Makes my eyes bleed things look so good.

This is probably a data entry error. If you look on the same site you will see that the Acceleration addon package is 64-bit compatible. How could that be if the base package was not compatible?
Thats a very good point!
It does matter. On a 64-bit OS the video card gets its own separate address space, leaving more address space available to 32-bit applications than they would get on a 32-bit OS. This is in fact the main reason why running FSX on 64-bit Windows is a good idea.
See, this is why i love this forums, cause i learn something new every day from the knowledge shared in here!
FSX will not run any better in C:\FSX, it is just that if you install to the default location you *may* run into problems with certain addons because of the special protection Vista and Windows 7 gives to the default location. (If you do decide to use the default, don't change it to any language-specific folders - just use the default).
Okay, then I`ll be better off installing FSX on a different drive then that which contains the OS. Thank you for taking ur time! I truly appreciate it, especially when Im trying to aviod as much problems and bugs as i possibly canpre-new computer-new fsx-new addons-big time problems-era again:)

I note that DCS A-10c is available as both 32-bit and 64-bit native applications, with the developers recommending the 64-bit version as having better functionality. Let's hope MS Flight is the same. It's time MS came out of the stone age; but if MS use the same codebase as FSX I guess we'll be out of luck. Cheers,Noel.
