September 9, 201114 yr Hi dazz! I saved the .lua file as you suggested and i added the auto entry at the final line in my FSUIPC4.iniSince my model is not american airlines i changed it to my aircraft title as it appears in the aircraft.cfg file [Auto.Boeing 737-8Q8NGX Air Jamaica Winglets]1=Lua NGXInit i double checked all steps before posting this.now my problem is i dont get how to assign my axis to the control "LuaValue trimNGX" i cant see it in the FSUIPC axis assignments nor can i in the FSX menu. i think i'm missing something here Thanks in advance Make sure FSUIPC is up to date. You need version 4.60 or later I thinkOnce updated, you shoud see a control called LuaValue trimNGX Oh, I made a mistake there. Sorry about that: [Auto.Boeing 737-8Q8NGX Air Jamaica Winglets]1=Lua NGXInit this should be [Auto.Boeing 737-8Q8NGX Air Jamaica Winglets]1=Lua trimNGX
September 9, 201114 yr heya dazz! i updated FSUIPC to 4.60 and i made the correction, now it looks like we're getting somewhere but not quite yet.I have a new list of controls and it looks like this---Lua TrimNGXLuaClear TrimNGXLuaDebug TrimNGXLuaKill TrimNGXLuaSet TrimNGXLuaToggle TrimNGX---Thing is, "LuaValue trimNGX" control doesn't appear in that menu and the trim won't work. And it doesn't work with any of the controls above for that matter.Nevertheless I observed that when i go to the Joystick Calibration window in FSUIPC on "trim, spoilers and Flaps" and i move my wheel, the numbers under the "Reset" button remain in zero, both "in" and "out" values. in the other hand, in the Axis assignment window the "in" and "out" values react to the motion of the wheel. i don't know if it means anything at all but i thought it might help you figuring out Thanks a lot for your time mate, i really appreciate ps. do i need to assign the axis to the FSX controls as well? coz that's the only thing i didn't try...

No, you should not assign the axis in FSX, use just FSUIPC.If you don't have the LuaValue control, you probably need the last version of FSUIPC (4.70): http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Try that and let me know how you do If you see the in & out values react to the axis motion that means that FSUIPC is reading your axis properly. Those values are provided by your hardware and vary from one device to another. For example my Saitek Trottle quadrant has axes that go from -16384 to 16384. You can (and should) try moving your axis all the way to the minimum detent and note the minimum axis value. Then crank it up to the max and note down again that max value. We'll need them later to calibrate the plugin
September 9, 201114 yr ...ouch, I just realised something. This method I'm using is going to override the A/P inputs to the trim, which is of course a deal breakerWe'll need a working event driven solution for this

Ok, it's solved: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19353176/trimNGX.zip Simply download and unzip in your Modules folder. It will replace the trimNGX.lua and will add another trimNGXthread.lua. The rest of the process is still the same
September 11, 201114 yr thanks for all your help again, i downloaded and copied the files but it still doesn't work because i haven't updated FSUIPC.let's say for one reason or another i can't update to 4.7, does that mean i have no chance of making the trim work on 4.6?
September 11, 201114 yr thanks for all your help again, i downloaded and copied the files but it still doesn't work because i haven't updated FSUIPC.let's say for one reason or another i can't update to 4.7, does that mean i have no chance of making the trim work on 4.6? That sounds so fishy... there's no reason why you should not be able to upgrade if you have a registered copy of FSUIPC, and I asked you twice if you have it registeredSorry but I'm obviously not going to tweak the pluggin again just so you can run it without the latest features. It's not so easy to do without them
