Gaming Laptop

Featured Replies

So in the spirit of all the new systems talk, i thought id pose this question. Im an over the road truck driver, and ovbiously i could carry a PC tower in the truck as i have the room to do so, however i dont have the power supply to do this. im in the process of switching to a new company and in the event that they do not allow power inverters id have to go to a laptop for my simming needs. SO that said im looking for a few good suggestions as to a good gaming laptop that will handle the load of FSX well. i already know that im not going to get the same performances as i would a desktop, but i want something close, that id be able to run it, REX and ASE on as well as my PMDG birds. So if anyone knows of or uses one id appreciate the help. Heres a link to one im looking at. they as all do claim to be the best and the fastest. its got good hardware and a respectable price. Facts and opinions from my fellow nerds appreciated lol. Thanks.http://www.mtechlaptops.com/specifications/mtechd900f.htm

Haha, yeah that's a good laptop. If you think that is a respectable price then I can imagine you would think a decent $1500 laptop is a steal. Here is a link to the processor inside that laptop.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115223&cm_re=i7_980x-_-19-115-223-_-ProductHere's a good laptop in that $1500 price rangehttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152266This one is better, because the processor is fasterhttp://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Battalion_101_X7200_2_Gaming_Laptop

I have been using laptops since 2002 for MSFS. The latest I picked up about 3 years ago and it still runs fsx pretty good - quad core, sli ati 3870 x 2, 17" 1920x1200 screen, 4 gigs ram, 2 hd which i recently replaced with two new 500gig hd. There's a lot more powerful machines out there now. It was made by an outfit called Killer Noteboooks, now out of business which is too bad as they built good machines. I had two of their creations. I used a pelican case for transport......untill a couple of years ago I flew forest fire suppresion aircraft for a living and every morning I'd pack up and throw all my gear in the aircraft. Never knew for sure where I'd finish the day out....the pelican cases while not cheap are worth the money if you value your machine. Dave
