Climb Thrust callout

Was wondering what is the "Climb Thrust" command during takeoff. Since you takeoff with auto throttles on isn't that already controlled via the FMC. Was wondering what the co-pilot does when you call that?

Hi,FO/PNF doesn't do anything.It's simply a verification call since the computer will automatically set climb thrust for you.

The co-pilot is verifying that you have (typically V2+15) for the pitch up into climb after the initial rotation to a pitch of 9 degrees to get off the runway. You have to initially limit the rotation in order to prevent a tail strike, then you pitch into the actual climb when you have the increased speed and are 35 feet off the deck. So basically, the PM is telling you that the engines are performing normally, and you are okay to get the nose up to 15 degrees for the actual climb out after having lifted off the runway, because you may be watching stuff other than the engine gauges and RA whilst you are the PF, so it is his job to tell you that.Al
