June 27, 201114 yr A good place to start is here: Kick back and do some reading. Be prepared to spend some time learning the hobby.http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
June 28, 201114 yr If you wish to create your own objects, then you might consider gMax:http://www.turbosquid.com/gmaxOnce the basic concepts are understood, it is a very powerful and absurdly easy program to use, in spite of what so many others think. But, there are also other options - some people are using a free Google object creation program. If you wish to place some of the very nice default objects, then you can use any of the free tools, many of them available right here in the Avsim library - for example, SBuilder for FS 9 will let you place all objects, effects, create land and water class, create terrain, and even photo-real ground textures. Get it here:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=138252The Avsim scenery design forum is the best place for tips, information, and generally hanging out with other designers. So, if you have any questions, problems, or if you just want to show how your project is coming along, please stay with us.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 30, 201114 yr Hi,I suggest if you want to place a few objects you check out Abacus' EZ Scenery for FS2004http://www.abacuspub...atalog/s600.htmor for FSX if your interested Instant Scenery,http://www.flight1.c...oduct=instscen2Both are payware,:DCheers,Jack
June 30, 201114 yr Instant Scenery 2 will work with both FS9 and FSX. It is the successor to EX-Scenery, being developed by the same person. Instant Scenery 2 offers more features than what I can recall about EX-Scenery and IMO would be the wise choice for purchase, regardless of the intended platform.
