December 18, 200322 yr great thread!after reading through here i purchased the L-188 Reeve DVD...it awaits my return from work as i type! there was also a fantastic episode of "Please Fasten Your Seatbelts" on Discovery Wings a few weeks back that dealt with bush flying in Alaska. i can't remember his name, but there was a pilot featured on the program that flew B732's for Alaska and on his days off flew into the bush. he said that Alaska pilots get to bid on their routes and he routinely bid for the Dutch Harbor route. he commented that its the closest thing to flying in the bush for a commercial airline. needless to say, the video shots of his 732 coming and going from PADU were fantastic!quick question Tom....i've downloaded all of the files you've mentioned above, but for some reasons the sounds are extremely low. for awhile, i didn't think i was hearing ANY...but when i crank the volume i can faintly hear them. any ideas? i've read thru the docs and found nothing that i've done wrong (i think). since the files was called "...soundupdate" i thought that maybe i needed some originals but cannot find any.anyways...thanks for all the info on one of my favorite places to sim-fly!chris
December 18, 200322 yr I've got this book called Fear is the Hunter by Ernest Gann who discribes such approaches to greenland during ww2 in dc3's. A real must have! I lost count over the times I've read it. Thanks for the reminder!

December 19, 200322 yr Hi,No, I don't know of any problems with those sounds. You could use a simple wav editor (like the free CoolEdit) to increase the volume of the files, or try editing the sound.cfg file to increase the volume of each sound (check the FS2002 Aircraft Container SDK for details).Or try downloading his 580 sounds - they sound much the same. They are here or on my Sounds Page.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
