Graphics card for FSX

Featured Replies

My current graphics card is a 512MB GeForce 9800GT. I am well aware that FSX performance is more CPU dependent than GPU, but I was wondering if a 1GB graphics card would make a difference with respect to complex airport addons, and payware planes with high detail textures (like the Captain Sim Boeing 707). I am looking for a card that is able to load high detail textures/models etc. more quickly than my existing 9800GT. More raw power would obviously be nice aswell, but I don't really want to spend any more than £70.What about the GeForce GTS250? I can get a 1GB version of that card for £70, but I need to know if it would make a difference. It doesn't need to be all that much more powerful than my existing 9800GT. It's just the graphics RAM that I am bothered about. If 1GB would make a significant difference when loading high detail textures and models in FSX, then I would be interested in a purchase.Graphics experts.....you have the floor

Hi Christopher. Why don't you for a cracking GTX460 1Gb which IMHO is one of the better GPUs for the price for FSX and will make a difference to your FSX.I've just bought one,the EVGA brand, completely new, from an eBay seller for around £115.Admittedly,I have not installed it as I'm awaiting other components for my next PC build.Just a thought.
