NGX gauges and FSUIPC

Featured Replies

Will the NGX gauges be compatible with FSUIPC's Mouse Macro functionality ? Sorry if I'm jumping the gun here, but being able to use this functionality at least for the MCP and MCDU pushbuttons and rotaries would be very important in my modest home cockpit. Thanks heaps for any info on this matter :(.

Cheers,
Emile Bax.

I think someone with prior experience with this FSUIPC feature would be able to answer your question. There should be a couple of these people on this forum.

well we already talked about hardware and so here http://forum.avsim.n...x-goflight-mcp/And there would be an SDK thats what we know for now. we first see when released if we can create LUA files or some of the other options for FSUIPC, or there would be a driver for some hardware we would se after some time, after release.but hope for the LUA could be created as worked so fra very good whit PMDG J41for displays.

Best regards Lars N.

Thanks. According to Pete Dowson's documentation, whether or not this FSUIPC feature works with any aircraft, depends on the way the aircraft's gauges are designed. For example, it doesn't work for gauges defined in XML. Nor, for unknown reasons, does it work for the default MS aircraft. But to my delight, the feature works fine with the PMDG B1900D gauges and allows me to operate pretty well all switches and buttons without needing the mouse. I've been flying the PMDG B1900D for a number of years now - it's my aircraft of choice for regional VATSIM flights - and am therefore hopeful that the NGX gauges are designed the same way as the Beech's. Hence my question : I assume that the developers know the way the NGX gauges are designed :(. If no-one can provide me with an answer, fair enough - thought it was worth the ask.

Cheers,
Emile Bax.

The NGX's gauges are done in C++, not XML - if that's the only requirement, it should work. I have no experience with this feature though, none of us at PMDG have home cockpits. As we've said many times though, there is a full SDK being released that will allow you to do access anything in the NGX with hardware as long as you know how to program for it.

Thanks Ryan ! That being the case, the feature should work which is great. Yes I knew about the SDK but as I'm not much of a programmer I hadn't considered the implications. Someone may well provide an interface between it and FSUIPC, similar to what Nico Kaan did for the Level-D 767, which would make life a lot easier in this respect. Or I might embark on a steep learning curve myself :(. Very much looking forward to the NGX : from what I've seen sofar, you guys are doing an amazing job :(.

Cheers,
