How are you going to get to 3GB with dual channel memory? Your board has 4 memory slots so your only choice is to move upto a min of 4GB.4GB is good for FSX. With dual channel I would get a min of 8GB to allow for some overhead.The extra memory would certainly not hurt with that slow CPU (no offence intended)You can always OC that E5700 as wellMy first C2D (E6400) went from stock of 2.13Ghz to 3.2Ghz quite easily. It still sits at that speed 24/7 in my kids bedroom.

Dual Channel memory ? I have two mem slots on the board (Biostar G31m very stable) , won't i get a single stick of 2 GB ?

If your board has only two slots then you can only do multiples of two.You can't put 1gb in one slot and 2gb in the other. They have to match

You can pick up some fairly cheap 2x2Gb 667MHz sticks on eBay as they are nigh impossible to get now from retailers,or you could also try CEX if you happen to live in the UK.

I live 9000 miles i suppose from UK :), I am from India. We get failry cheap Dynet 2 GB modules i guess i should upgrade it to 4GB at least for the next two quarters as i am not planning on upgrading my system till then.

vc10man, Really appreciate your gesture for the memory, but here in India there's a place called Lamington road which has around 60-70 computer retailers and distributors where we can get all branded memories like Corsair / Transcend / Kingston etc... , and the 2 GB module is around 2500/- INR tht's around $ 50, why i said Dynet is because i am currently using those modules and today i am buying the 4 GB Kingston modules.Just wanted to know if I switch off FSX traffic and use WOAI would it work ?Thnx again.

Perhaps you are the best placed person in India to answer a question for me.Can I obtain a decent joystick with throttle control and an X-Y axis twist yoke in Mumbai,ala MS Sidewinder FF2 standards? Want to save on weight carrying one from the UK.Thanks in advance.
