July 15, 201114 yr Commercial Member 100% handpainted, I will be uploading to the library over the weekend. I do have 1920x1080 ["HD ?"] versions of each if anyone is interested. For the SkySpirit2010 model. Best Regards,Kyle SchurbDeveloper of Virtual Cockpits, Sceneries, and Liveries. Instrument-Rated Commercial Pilot AMEL, CFI/CFII/MEI
July 15, 201114 yr This is a nice paint. Not possible for LDS? I don't know about SkySpirit2010, but LDS has the leading role in the 767 market...
July 15, 201114 yr Extremely well done Kyle.Mind the registration , it needs a bit of tuning.RegardsLeen de Jager
July 15, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks! What's wrong with the registration? Best Regards,Kyle SchurbDeveloper of Virtual Cockpits, Sceneries, and Liveries. Instrument-Rated Commercial Pilot AMEL, CFI/CFII/MEI
July 15, 201114 yr Wrong is a too big word Kyle. The code is correct, the font is incorrect and the placing and spacing is incorrect.I know I am a terrible man at his point , nevertheless its a fact ,on at least 75% of all flightsim-paints the registration on fuselages and wings is incorrect. Many painters ( I can surely say most ) create the registration by typing a font. The result is the font is incorrect in most cases and the horizontal stroke between the characters is placed to low.In real this horizontal stripe is almost always exactly half-way the hight of the font.Lets have a look at your registration and see whats wrong:1 st. The font is the wrong type (your Z is vertically simmetric , the real one has a shorter upperline) your B is to heavy at the upper part, it should be smaller)2 nd. The horizontal stripe is much to short and placed to low.3 rd. There should be a little more space between the characters.http://www.dutchfs.com/files/tools/Letterset_RLD_RNLAF.zip ( made by my friend Jaap de Baare , wellknown here at AVSIM)download this zip and have a look at the rld-reg. setThere you`ll find the original Rijks Luchtvaart Dienst font including their specific spacing.Mind to compare with the real thing , painters painting the real thing make mistakes too.If thats the case you`ll have to reproduce their mistakes as well.AND make sure to have an eye on the flags near the registration , sometimes their height differ from the registration ( wich might be the case here ).Best regardsLeen
July 15, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks, I'll make the necessary changes when I get back home tomorrow. Do you have any guidance for the underwing registration text? I wasn't able to find very good reference shots of the area while I was working with it.By the way, no need to sugarcoat anything - it is wrong, haha. Unlike most, I'm very open to criticism when valid. It's the biggest reason I post screenshots before I release something is for this very reason. If you have anything else to add, feel free! I want it to be done right! Best Regards,Kyle SchurbDeveloper of Virtual Cockpits, Sceneries, and Liveries. Instrument-Rated Commercial Pilot AMEL, CFI/CFII/MEI
July 15, 201114 yr No sugar-coat ? To be honest I really hate your paints...........whahahahahahaha.Just kidding Kyle.Herewith some pictures I found on that ,a-(mazing).net.The worse picture shows your plane. The fine one shows another KLM of the same type.I think that will do?CheersLeen
July 15, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member I'll make necessary changes - appears as if the font is the same as the fuselage but I'll take a closer look when I get on somrething other than an ipad. :) Best Regards,Kyle SchurbDeveloper of Virtual Cockpits, Sceneries, and Liveries. July 15, 201114 yr Generally spoken fonts and layout used for fuselage- and wings-registration are identical Kyle. This not only goes for Dutch planes.Leen
