Ezdok real or no

It's not a "vibrating" effect, per se, IronM, but an aircraft - say a Cessna 172 - idling at the ramp will be slightly moving around as a result of the wash from the prop buffeting the fuselage and flying surfaces, with a very small vibration from the engine being felt, rather than seen. As the power is increased to taxy those sensations also become more noticeable. At the hold point, brakes on, bringing the power up for mag/prop checks the engine vibration is quite strongly, with instruments, panels and other items vibrating in sympathy with it. The aircraft also moves around limited by the brakes and tire friction, with the control stick/yoke being also buffeted in your hand. The bouncing around and side-to-side swaying motion on the take-of will be due to the state of repair of the runway surface, and as it clears the ground that will disappear, being replaced by a moderately gentle swaying, perhaps a little bumpy motion as she begins the climb. Gusty winds, multiple engines, engine size, etc., will also have a greater or lesser impact upon how the aicraft responds.EZCA replicates all of these sensations, movements and vibrations extremely well, and when coupled with TrackIR - it is to the point of duplicating complete reality from the pilots perspective. It is, however not the simplest little app to set up - there is a bit of a learning curve, but there are a couple of good videos and instruction posts around that will make it easier, and well worth the purchase. Go get it!

Wow Paul. Do you know that is the best description I have ever read of EZYdok. It was a pleasure to read. I have it too and on the forum page, there are video's by Eric Kreuger on how to set it up. http://www.simforums.com/forums/my-ezdok-setup-videos_topic38637_page1.htmlIronMaiden, or whatever your real name is, it's a great program and if you want realism, this is the one to get.

But does it work with Freetrack/TrackIR any idea ?

The only downside of the EZDOK currently is the inability really to load an aircraft you want and load a default profile for it.EZDOK provides profiles for default aircraft, but they are somewhat hardcoded into the program. When you get it, you will have to load a default aircraft, save a profile, load your addon, then load the profile, then adjust the seating and all other views... possibly some won't apply to your addon aircraft, so you will have to create new... etc. It's definitely a really powerful movement addon, but the author is working on the V2 version, which should make above stuff way more easier. Or so they say.And yes, it does work with TIR.

Perhaps you could write a simple LUA macro to read the aircraft name and load the appropriate EZDOK profile (as FSUIPC does for aircraft-specific control settings)? Just a thought...Cheers,- jahman.

Hahaha! Well, thanks, Dave! You know - after EZCA was released I purchased it, then returned it, then repurchased again few weeks later - and I did that three times before I finally kept it!!! I had a miserable time trying to get the zoom level and TrackIR sorted out. Man - did I have a game. It wasn't 'til Eric Kreuger's video came out that I finally clued in to the "2" key, and the other six controlling keys. Duh! Yep it's a wizard little program, isn't it! Wouldn't fly without it now.Talking about the OP's original question - r/w stuff; I had the opportunity to do an engines-running radio check on a Mossie at Rissy back in the early '60's, and with one idling the jockey brought the other up to around 1800. With full up elevator the aircraft was straining to climb over the right chock and the tailwheel was bouncing a foot or more off the ground; and the inside noise from a Merlin has to be heard to be believed. I went on to get a license, did some twin time, etc., but nothing since has ever made such an impression. So I owe IronMaiden a 'Thank you' for bring back a heck of a memory! Never so scared in all my life! :(

EZCA loads profiles based on the aircraft selected already, no LUA script required. Besides which, it operates as an external program outside of FSX, so I'm not sure LUA would work for it anyway. Once you get it set up, it becomes basically transparent. The only time I ever even think about it is when I'm loading a plane for the first time.

A friend of mine had purchased EzDok sometime back so I tried it on his machine but Ezdok does not work every time you run FSX, it shows that EzDok is loaded but no shakes or anything. I am purchasing it in a couple of days, if anyone has faced the same problem and resolved it then please do let me know.

OK, then nothing needed (but Word Not Allowed said it didn't...)With LUA you can do anything you want, heck, you can even launch programs remotely on a server in Kirghistan. Launching an external program via a command-line parameter (profile name) would be one of the easier tasks to program. And now, for something completely OT...Bill, I love the intimacy of your sceneries (have most of them!) Perhaps you might be interested in doing SCIR - Robinson Crusoe Island (a.k.a. Juan Fernandez/Selkirk Island)? There is a heck of a ledge road leading from the airport to the village (I'm amazed they could fit an airport in, the island is so rugged! Can you find it?): Fun for driving a car along in FSX and enjoying the scenic views. If you read the book as a kid, perhaps you feel the "lure of the lore" about this jewel of a South Pacific pirate cove as I do. More info, pictures, lovely nature feature film (in french),
,
. Have a very detailed coastline KML to get you started! :( Funny how things work out: Am just overflying SCIR on my way to PHNL from Santiago (Chile) in the PMDG B-744 as I write this... Oo-eee! Oo-eee! :( Back to our regular programming...Cheers,- jahman.

I guess EzDok will have to wait as Freetrack with TRackIR connect selected it behaves erratically and i do not want to compromise head views against shakes & cameras.

Freetrack is working with Ezdok, this is what I did I disabled UAC in windows 7 security, downloaded TrackIR software installed it, copied the TrackIRviews.dll to the freetrack folder , under freetrack selected TrackIR interface other options deselected and I could use the head view with the ezDok shakes/vibrations :)
