July 16, 201114 yr I recently purchased FS Global 2010 X and installed it without incident. I also purchased FSG Ultimate The Americas & Europe/Asia.When I read the Readme text prior to installing The Americas it said to disable the Scenery for the America Regions. Not sure how to do that I looked in my FSX directory and saw one labled FS Genesis! I forgot that I had loaded there US Terrain Mesh V2 download a few months back Probably explains why I didn't see much difference after I loaded FS Global 2010 X.Anyhow, my question relates to removing FS Genesis or not? Will they coexist or should I just have one or the other?I am in the middle of the installation and looking for a little input.ThanksRick S.

You have purchased two products that do the same thing. Any regions that are covered by both products will need to be one or the other. (or in the case of mesh the highest resolution product will show first) Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

No need to uninstall one or the other?I didn't really set out to create this conflict, just forgot about installing FS GenesisThanksRick S

Otherwise scenery library order will take priority. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

July 16, 201114 yr Be aware that FS Global will make a total mess of the elevation in too many places IMO.Others agree with me:http://us.generation-nt.com/answer/fs-global-ultimate-warning-help-201701032.html

July 16, 201114 yr I have been an FSGenesis guy since FS2002 so I would always stick with them (plus I have not heard too many compliments about FS Global) Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
July 16, 201114 yr Commercial Member Be aware that FS Global will make a total mess of the elevation in too many places IMO.Others agree with me:http://us.generation...-201701032.html Airport plateaus are a problem with any mesh product - it happens with FS Genesis too. The only way to fix it is custom flatten files for every airport and the immediate surrounding area. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 16, 201114 yr Not that long ago I released a fix to solve a problem with the FSGenesis mesh at Toad River Airport, which is at at Mile 422 on the Alaska Highway in northern British Columbia. It is interesting to note that the real world elevation for Toad River Airport is listed at 732 meters. Microsoft placed it at 731.520 meters and to get it looking fairly close with FSGenesis mesh enabled, I had to place it at 711.520 meters! So Microsoft had the more accurate mesh at this particular airport location!I always make sure that when I install a mesh product, it goes into its own folder that I can enable/disable in the FSX Scenery Library. For the most part I find I have the extra mesh products disabled as I find the improvements subtle, while the airport plateaus are definitely in your face! :Thinking:Regards, Mike Mann Mike Mann
July 17, 201114 yr I recently purchased FS Global 2010 X and installed it without incident. I also purchased FSG Ultimate The Americas & Europe/Asia.When I read the Readme text prior to installing The Americas it said to disable the Scenery for the America Regions. Not sure how to do that. Both FSGU-Americas and FSGU-Europe/Africa (not Asia!) improve on FSG2010, so to avoid needless duplication you are asked to deactivate the continents in FSG2010 that are duplicated (in higher resolution!) in FSGU-Americas and FSGU-Europe/Africa.To deactivate scenery areas, start FSX, then Configuration, Scenery Library and likely towards the bottom of the list locate the following scenery areas and deactivate them by unchecking their respective checkbox at the left:FS Global 2010 - AntarcticaFS Global 2010 - North AmericaFS Global 2010 - South AmericaFS Global 2010 - Central America-FS Global 2010 - EuropeFS Global 2010 - AfricaThe following three scenery areas should remain checked as they are still needed:FS Global 2010 - Local MeshesFS Global 2010 - AsiaFS Global 2010 - OceaniaNote that if you are short of disk space, instead of just deactivating the 6 FSG2010 scenery areas, you could actually delete them as they are no longer needed at all. Do this by first selecting each scenery area to be removed, then click "Modify Area" and note the file path where that scenery area is stored, then click "Cancel". Only then click "Delete Area" to remove the scenery area from your scenery library (this list). Now go to your hard drive and directory that you noted in the previous step and you can safely delete those directories. I looked in my FSX directory and saw one labled FS Genesis! I forgot that I had loaded there US Terrain Mesh V2 download a few months back Probably explains why I didn't see much difference after I loaded FS Global 2010 X.Anyhow, my question relates to removing FS Genesis or not?
