Auto throttle won't disengage on landing

Featured Replies

Hi folks,After completing multiple tutorial flights successfully I decided to fly from Zurich to Palma de Majorca (LSZH to LEPA) usng my own flight plan. Everything went fine until I came into land. I usually disengage the auto pilot at around 1000ft AGL. I pressed the yellow button twice on the yoke as usual and hand flew the landing procedure. I didn't realise there was a problem until I tried to select reverse thrust, the throttle just appeared stuck at around 65%n1. I pulled back on my thrust lever but nothing happed at all. I ended up crashing at the end of the runway. Does anyone know what might have gone wrong? (I'm so annoyed with myself).

Yes but, the A/T should disengage on landing. You need to configure a key for the A/T within the key settings. The real way is to click the button on the side of the Throttles, as in reality.

Thanks for the response Dave. However it seemed to work fine on my tutorial flights and I don't think I configured a button on those flights? I thought that when you click twice on the yellow yoke buttons it disengaged A/P as well as the A/T as well. mmm confused.

Hi,Did you see the green box on the bottom of the second screen? Or was there anything still written there in white? Flaps where in the correct positon? That all could be reasons for the AT system not to disconnect when you touch the ground. You have to disable the autopilot and the autothrust system seperatly as mentiont above. Best regardsJonathan

Ah right OK Jonathan, I think I remeber the flaps were fully extended and vaguely remember there was yellow writing in one of the boxes regarding flaps. I'll have to re fly the route and pay closer attention. Many thanks for your replies.:(

Hi, Like you see in this screenshot, the starting/landing configuration isn't set correct. The spoilers arn't armed. In this shot you see the green box. This indicates that everything is set like it should be for start or landing. If there is written anything yellow in these areas (not in the withe box itselfe) somthing isn't working correct. I think you saw the flaps there in yellow because they weren't able to get out 35 degrees or 50 degrees. When you want flaps at 50 degrees you have to go to the TO/APR page to set flaps for 50/LAND or the A/T system is to fast and you get these problems like you described above.Hope that helps,Jonathan
