DX10 Preview in FSX

Featured Replies

Came across a post with mention of "DX10 Preview in FSX", noted it is advisable to disable this. Question: Where do you access it in FSX and how do you disable DX10 Preview?Delf(Heron 1B)

Right under the main page of you GFX options in the sim. There is a box you uncheck.

G'day Ash,Many thanks for the reply, been to GFX page and the box reference DX10 does not appear there most likely due to the fact my OS is Windows XP 32bit although I do not have FSX Acceleration installed only SP1/2.Cheers,Delf

I think that the DX10 preview mode is only available after the SP2/Acceleration Update. (Maybe SP1)

Windows XP stopped at Direct X 9 - you don't see it there because you need Vista or Windows 7 to have the capability to run DX10 or DX11.

G'day,Thanks guys for the response. Thanks Ryan,Suspected that to be the case.Looking at upgrading my system to Win7 X64 with Intel i7 2600K 3.4GHz oc to 4.47 processor and GTX 570 or 580 graphics card and 8GB RAM. Currently running two GPU(s) GTX460 1GB as main with GT260 just for EICAS display. Have a feeling two GPU(s)with FSX is not a good idea especially with OS being Windows XP(32)and CPU Intel Duo core E8500 3.16GHz.Noted your remarks to previous post ref the GPU GTX460 being 1GB and my old system.Cheers,Delf(Heron 1B)
