Question ref low vis, is this right?

Featured Replies

Hi Just wondering if my FSX is behaving normally. Please view attached picture. I want to do a low visibilty approach. I have no runway light tweaks in my fsx.cfg. I am approahing in to Stansted EGSS UK2000 scenery or any other payware airport and I have set FSX visitbility to its lowest 1/16.When approaching I can not see a thing around me, but, I can see the runway entry lights (as in attached picture) which sort of defeats the object of doing a low vis ils approach as seeing the lights makes it very easy to land in what I am hoping would be a difficult situation. So just wondering, is this normal for FSX, is there anyway to make the lights not visible? Thanks Keithy

I think those lights are only modelled in Gary Simmons UK Xtreme sceneries (Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow, ...). I remember that checking the UK2000 forum on this helped me. EDIT: seems to me they weren't able to figure out a less intensive light setting for UK2000 Xtreme airports. This thread seems to be for general lights, however, Garys lights will not take advantage of it. Patching is another alternative mentioned within the thread.

Kind regards, Erich.

Hi Vasant, thanks for your reply, yes you are right! Its just UK2000 scenery. Thanks. As per the link to the thread you gave, All mine are updated but I still have the problem (just tested). But not an issue now as if I want to do a low vis I will just fly into a non Uk2000 airport. Thanks again
