August 4, 201114 yr Photoshop is king for a reason. Has a steep learning curve if you want to get the most out of it, but if you are interested in messing about with graphics, and your interest is serious and genuine, take a look at Photoshop CS5. I added the caveat since software like this is not cheap, but there is a reason for that.
