August 6, 201114 yr Not a bug just a question. I'm not a real NG pilot but I'm noticing on turning on the APU bleed and then turning off the Packs duct pressure is only around 10 psi. The engines start fine and its not an issue but I thought you would need at least 30psi duct pressure to start the engines with the APU. Can anybody correct me or advise what I might be doing wrong or can the -800 start with 10 psi duct pressure. Sean Green
August 6, 201114 yr Sean, Good question. Asked before. The APU will automatically adjust the pressure to the load. It will bump up to 40ish when starting the engines. It is saving fuel. August 6, 201114 yr 9 to 12ish its normal (fuel saving) it will increase as needit to start up 30ish to upper 40s . hope it helps you .. Image removed as image is no longer available.
