Hi folks, I'm sure that my problem has nothing 2 do with PMDG software, but maybe you guys are able 2 help me with my problem as well. I'm not quiet sure why, but my FSX often crashes with the message that I ran out of memory or with a simple Crash 2 the desktop. I'll show you my fsx.cfg, maybe you can find something which is not as it should be. There are some german remarks in it, there just 4 me, so I know what I've changed. The last changes I've made was to raise the LOD_Range to 8.5, that looks amazing, but after a while it crashes, so i set it back to 4.5. The other thing I've changed was to install the ENB-Series Mod from the ORBX forum. I've deleted that 2 files, too, to check if it would work now. So maybe you guys have another ideas how I could check what went wrong. The frames are at most 20-30 so there is no need for performance tuning. I can't understand why the FSX always ran out of memory at 8 gigs of ram. Hope my english is not too bad. Thank you guys for your upcoming help.

HI I had the same problem until I find out that I have too high Scenery settings, since I have it on overall medium settings I have not got any such CTD! The graphics is outstanding in fsx with medium settings so if I would you, I should take it easy with the settings! Hope this help//Best Fredrik

Check if the USERVA run command works with Win 7; BCDEDIT /Set IncreaseUserVa 3072 Then increase Virtual Memory to the max Custom setting that Windows advises, it does this in the Virtual Memory window. Google will soon point out the USERVA run commans and if applicable to Win 7, do that first. then Google to find where the Virtual Memory settings are set and try a Custom max size setting as advised by Windows. Even on a 4 gig memory sytem Windows sets it around 2 gig. Its worth a try if it works with Win7, I use Vista and always set both in there, never an OOM error again. Its also reversible and both ways takes 5 mins once you know what to do, where to set it and if its applicable to your OS. I`ve done this simple fix since not long after FSX came out and on quite a few machines. Good luck,

I think you will find its your LOD - I've been playing around with this a lot since purchasing the Sim Saavy photoreal software. Anything above 5 with a complex airliner like the MD-11 (I don't have the NGX yet) will result in a crash for me - I'm running 6 gigs of memory on a first generation i7 board at stock speeds. I have been given conflicting info as to whether more memory will help here - I'll leave that to the experts. Colin Ware

@reider, thanks for that hint, but, like clum wrote, I use an 64bit OS, so it normally uses more than the 2 gigs. @hmslion, I allready set the LOD back to 4.5 which is the standartsetting, but I got another crash. I'll give it another try without the ENB-Mod soon.
