  1. With growing confidence after my return from the USA my next route is planned with the 390 Premier from EGGP Liverpool to YPDN Darwin, Australia. About 9,500 miles (I had the exact figures but changed the route slightly) and 16 airports. So far I did EGGP Liverpool to LMFN Nice and then on to LIRN Naples, Italy. 14 more stops to go for fuel. I found a nice little VFR program and made a PDF of the route with Flight Plan and Map. Look for VfrFlight below if interested, it is free to use. Thanks once again for all your help, Bert. http://serwer1998768.home.pl/vfr/en/index.html I found VfrFlight invaluable in planning my route. The world and his dog states they flew it in real but nobody gives details of the route itself. This one gives hops with NM distances and allows you to pop one in the middle of two of them if it's too far for the Premier. It builds up the route and displays it on a map, using the P3D Database so you know the airports and airfields exist. It does work in FSX and XPlane too. Steve
  2. Just for anyone eIse who finds this post and/or thinks about getting the GTN 750, JUST DO IT! Tested with a short hop from Liverpool EGGP to Birmham EGBB. Then began my reconstruction loosely based on an old WW2 Route to ferry spare parts to the USA from England, in a light plane. OK so the Premier is a jet but has a short range with a full tank. I also tested with the Dual Engine Beech B60 V2 using the GTN 750 too. EGGP Liverpool (home area so my chosen start) to EGPC Wick (Scotland) 325.7 nm EGPC Wick to BIKF (Keflavik) Iceland 702.2 nm BIKF to BGBW (NARSARSUAQ) Greenland 652.0 nm BGBW to CYYR (Goose Bay) Canada 710.8 nm CYYR to KRME (Griffiss AF) USA 849.5 nm The GTN 750 was superb and showed all the details I knew little about, being poor on geography. The route was shown clearly and I had no hesitation at all, even though I had not previously flown there. BIKF to BGBW Greenland I flew direct as there were no suitable airways shown in the planner or GTN 750. The approach to Greenland was fantastic with a flight down a valley to land. Canada was a good approach and the GTN 750 was superb, far better than any unit I'd used before and much more detail and simplicity. The Premier stuck to the GTN 750 route like glue. By far the best part was the approach into Griffiss AF as the GTN 750 had full approach plates and details with heights at each marker. I now intend flying back again and know I will do this route more than once. The route is also still used these days to ferry new and repaired light planes to America at a fraction of the normal delivery costs. Whilst this can cost $13,000 the lower price of the plane when purchased can more than make up for it. Thanks again to Bert, this implementation was 10 times better than I had hoped for
  3. Many many thanks Bert, quick too. This should help me no end using the GTN 750 I got today. thanks again Steve
  4. Sent an email to Bert for his Premier Integration Mod. Many thanks to Bert and all helping out with this stuff. I struggle more than ever with health problems so this help is invaluable and well appreciated folks. Thank you, especially Bert who I know has been helping people a long time now. Steve
  5. Many many thank to Sean. Realair=RealPeople. People who make a difference!
  6. I fancy having a go at the Easi Jet when the paint kit is out.
  7. I would like to see the traditional PMDG textures please (I usually use them for testing and real world variants for routes). Easijet for definate and any British jets possible. I`ll be getting the base pack so anything British + Easijet for the 800/900 would be cool. By the time the other variants come out I think a few home brewed ones will be available.Steve Brooks
  8. Probably the dll.xml is corrupted, SimConnect has always been a weak area. One of your 3rd party add ons may have corrupted it. This is how mine looks.....<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252" ?>Launchdll.xmlFalseFalseTraffic ToolboxFalseFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitTraffic Toolbox SDKtraffictoolbox.dllVisual Effects ToolFalseFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKEnvironment KitSpecial Effects SDKvisualfxtool.dllLevel-D SimulationsFalseFalseModulesLVLD.dllFSUIPC 4FalseModulesFSUIPC4.dllPMDG OptionsFalsePMDGDLLsPMDGOptions.dllPMDG EventsFalsePMDGDLLsPMDGEvents.dllPMDG SoundsFalsePMDGDLLsPMDGSounds.dllObject Placement ToolFalseFalse..Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDKSDKMission Creation Kitobject_placement.dllThis affects the file menu in FSX and if its corrupted then either stuff does not appear in the menu or in severe cases FSX fails to start. Only a guess, but thats my take on it anyway. Start by uninstalling 3rd party add ons and reintroduce them one at a time until you find the offending item.I had no problems, but then I clean installed in this order....FSX Deluxe, Acceleration (includes SP1 and SP2), SDK, SDK SP1a, SDK Acceleration Version. I tried the SDK SP2 version and prefer the Acceleration one as some items were missing from the file menu with the SDK SP2. Best to start FSX before applying SP1 and the same with SP2, so it at least builds the FSX.cfg Likewise if you take the FSX/Acceleration route instead. Then, one by one under test conditions reintroduce 3rd part aircraft/programs and check for problems.Reider
  9. The major flaw is not having fresh food on board for the flight. Never see the food truck there ;-) Reider
  10. The RC is not recommended to install. Best to wait for the official release, their are still changes between the two and its not far off now anyway. I am a beta tester and still would not attempt to use this software, until the official public release. It was somebody from Microsoft who told us not to install it.....Reider
  11. Glad it helped along with Lefteris. We all have a mutual hobby and interest, so we try to pool ideas. Its often a combination of these ideas that works. Have fun and enjoy.....Reider
  12. Haven`t got FS9 on now but I have had it on in Vista 32 bit in the past wit no problems..... No intention of putting it back on either ;-) Reider
  13. Yes, I have both and read the message. It was said more matter of fact than anything, whilst it may have come across as a serious message I don`t think that was the intention. Daryl has to make it an official announcement so it just sounds that way. I`ve seen him 'having a go' and I definitely do not think this is one of them.I must say, hats off to PMDG on this subject. They were already dealing with it and have acknowledged it. These overlaps can and do happen with all the best good will and intention in the world.Go get it Graham, you will not regret buying her. Both PMDG and Level D represent a quality and service level for others to look up to. You`ll get a lot of enjoyment and total back up too.Reider
  14. Got to admit, this would be a nice feature..... When I land, I open the doors, its like you`ve really arrived somewhere. Seeing the steps would be the icing on this visual cake.Reider
  15. Why not tell him, he can tell us, then you can just kill him anyway? ;-) Not looking for info on it so only joshing guys.....Reider
  16. Mine runs 15-20fps on average with a 3800 Dual Core AMD, 2 gig memory and a Geforce 7600GT. Most settings on high and running SP1 and SP2 (acceleration) with the 747 in FSX on Vista 32 bit. Graphics are crisp and clear, the sim is pretty fluid. This is ample to fly it and have lots of fun and views along the way.Reider
  17. I`ve downloaded it but not tried it yet, just had a quick flick around it. It looks pretty cool and fairly straight forward to use. I`d just like to say thanks very much to all for taking the time out to complete this, it has been noted. Thanks once again, much appreciated,Reider
  18. That would really round off this whole package nicely, a paint package and thus more planes to choose from. I have downloaded what their are but a few more English ones would be very nice.Reider
  19. Actually, I think it looks rather good, can we have it as a selectable feature? ;-) Already seen flames coming from one of the Acceleration aircraft, the Mustang I believe.....Reider
  20. All sorted now, usage of an internal USB port was causing problems on the external ports. One of the front (double) internal USB ports was ok, only the rear internal caused the fault. The front sound port system when plugged in internally causes the rear sound port system to stop, you use one or the other. So this port may work the same way.Had a brilliant flight to LOWS-Salzburg, Austria in the 747 today. Such magnificent scenery too..... I think the Seychelles is on the cards soon too..... thanks all.Reider
  21. Check the settings from the file menu, there should be a tick in hear sounds externally, or something very similar.....Reider
  22. I have a problem only with the take off from the airport on the 747 and my 767 in FSX on Vista 32 bit. It very often just loses all thrust and falls to the ground. this only happens with both aircraft when using the FMC-any other time its normal. Frames are great and performance is outstanding for a 3800 Dual Core with 2 gig ram.I`ve tried flashing the bios, a different Mobo, a different joystick, you name it. I had heard the claims that XP was faster than Vista with FSX, I had XP anyway but prior to SP1. So, I decided to install it again. It didn`t fix the take off problems and the FPS was well down. I carried on for 24 hours and am now back in a newly formatted and installed Vista 32 bit. Its a bit ropey this time, but I`d rather sort that than go back to XP-it may work for some, not for me. Now, back to the take off problems, so exasperating, its ok the rest of the time.Reider
  23. Sorry, I`d already added my real name to a signature, but its not coming through yet, just checking it outEDIT: It is now thankfully
  24. Might be coincidence, but the only time it happened to me I was overweight. Not me personally you understand, well I suppose I am, who started all of this? ;-) Go check your fuel.... Reider
