August 8, 201114 yr Hi all,A little help needed.Aircraft seems to "flare" about 300-400 feet before touchdown. At that phase I have to give a lot of input to point aircraft's nose down otherwise I will overfly the whole runway.Upon touch down the "alt hold" on the PFD is displayed and the warning sound is heard. Any clue what is going wrong? Thanks,Christos
August 8, 201114 yr Did you activate autoland or just approach mode on a single autopilot? Fabrizio Sassi
August 8, 201114 yr Author Or, I disengage the autopilot and handfly it from about 600 ft to touchdown. Christos
August 8, 201114 yr What altitude did you entered in the altitude window upon final approach? Kevin D'hertefeltIntel i7 4770K @ 4.0Ghz | GTX780 | 6GB DDR3 | Windows 7 Home Premium X64
August 8, 201114 yr Author I am not sure, must had entered 300 ft.But autopilot was off, why would there be a problem in reading the altitude? Christos
August 8, 201114 yr That's weird, especially with the autopilot off. Kevin D'hertefeltIntel i7 4770K @ 4.0Ghz | GTX780 | 6GB DDR3 | Windows 7 Home Premium X64
August 9, 201114 yr Upon touch down the "alt hold" on the PFD is displayed and the warning sound is heard.I think a bit more info could help. Alt hold doesn't just engage out of nothing. What modes were armed/active beforehand? FD, AT, AP status? What do you mean the aircraft "flared" at 400 feet? During autoland the aircraft will mistrim at that altitude, but yet stay on G/S. This is only for a potential G/A.
August 9, 201114 yr Did you input the airport altitude on the pedestal? I am not sure it is required for hand landing, but it sure is for autoland (I thiink -otherwise how is the AP supposed to know where the runway is?). henri Henri Arsenault
