Climb speeds changing during climb

Featured Replies

Hi! I experienced a strange drop and rise in climb speed during climb. Sometimes it was 800 feet, then 1200 then back to lower values. Is this normal? Also I experienced during a descend that the plane went nose up and nose down during the whole descend, looked like in a rollercoster. Anyone had the same effect happen?

Hmm, will see when this happens again. But as far as I recall....the weather wasn´t anything out of the ordinary.

Climb speed changes could be due to noise abatement procedures programmed into SID's, what runway/airport/SID were you using?

That was out of LOWW, with the LANU1C SID from RWY 29.

So I had this happened again. I experienced very slow climb speeds after FL220 of about 800ft then it got back up to 1900ft after a few thousand feet height. Then at about FL300 it got down again to 800 to 900ft and then it got back up till I reached my cruise height. Is this normal? Definately had nothing to do with the SID because I already left it.

Winds and pressure changes have a lot to do with it especially if they change suddenly.
