ASE Inactive reloading FSX

Featured Replies

Hi, since some days I'm experiencing a strange issue that I did not notice before. If I quit from FSX and then I launch it again, ASE does not load the weather even if it is still running. To solve I have to quit again from FSX and close ASE and after relaunch ASE and FSX. Is this normal? If not how can i solve ? Thanks and best regards Joe

Hi, All normal behaviors all due to SimConnect. Because MS stopped development of SimConnect there is no fix. Whenever you close FSX, close ASE also.

I take it this also applies if for any reason FSX experiences a CTD then restarts? Thats the issue I'm searching these forums right now for. Mark

This is guaranteed? I usually start ASE with Windows and keep it running in the background during multiple instances of FSX. Eventually ASE stops sending weather to FSX but I am 99% positive that it will do it through multiple FSX runs. I'll have to double-check though; maybe I'm just thinking it's running ;)

All, Anytime the communication between FSX and ASE is broken you might need to restart both programs. Guaranteed? No, because I have ASE installed on a client and most times I can leave ASE running and when I start FSX on the server things USUALLY connect! But when they don't I know why and just re-start both!
