  1. Yeah. Me too. I think the thing that frustrates me the most is I finally have the hardware to get the full potential out of FSX and still, plagued by CTD issues! But, so far so good. Mark
  2. @spacedyemeerKat Downloaded and added that DLL file to my FSX root directory and flew all night this night without any CTD issues. I am crossing my fingers and will be re-installing FSPS Physics add-on tomorrow. But in the mean time- thanks- great tip and I thank you for it.
  3. Hey Jim, A comment on installing in a the non standard directory- niethor Win7 or Win8 allowed me to do that- ended up with half in my folder and the other half in the programs89....? what ever that standard folder is. Just in the name of Pete do you get it to install somewhere else???
  4. Morning, Spent most of the evening while sitting here re-installing FSX on my new Asus 76GV....anyway, I unistalled it after a rash of unexpected fatal errors occured. After installing everything, discovered that anytime I bring the knee board up in any model, FSX crashes. Is this some sort of compatability issue with Win8 or is something else going on. As long as I don't bring up the knee board, everything hums along fine. Thanks, Mark Mark
  5. I have FS9 in my drive as well but only till I figure out where I laid my FSX software. The issue was always hardware and at the time, I was having a much better experence on FS9. Last week however has chaged that with the purchase of an Asus "gamers" laptop with a Gforce 660 and 2gb of native ram on the graphics card. I think I will now be finally able to take full advantage of this dynamic scenery and stuff. So go ahead devolpers, crunch out the FSX stuff now that the hardware is catching up. 6. I'll give that a shot. Thanks. Mark. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  7. Morning, Is it possible to rewrite the MD11 cfg file to get the default FSX atc to direct the cargo versions to a cargo ramp? The last to time I flew the plane, was directed to a general aviation parking ramp. I am familiar enough if the cfg files to edit them but am not sure if I can substitute cargo ramps for parking or gates. Thanks, Mark Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  8. I dunno. Thought about the brute force approach.... threatening the laptop with my 9mm. Probably a little extreme. Mark Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  9. You know, I have tried doing that maybe a half dozen times. For some reason, Windows7™ won't allow it. I end up with two fsx folders, one in the 86 programs file and the other where I designated....FSX seems to get scattered between them. Mark Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  10. Funny how things work sometimes.

  11. Waiting on relay headed Virginia way. More miles then my preplan is anyway.

  12. Morning, Is there any way to imbed the Xguage into a panel using FSPS? Thanks. Mark.
  13. Reefer issues.....trailers definatly need to cycle through the shops more.

  14. I take it this also applies if for any reason FSX experiences a CTD then restarts? Thats the issue I'm searching these forums right now for. Mark
  15. well the morning has turned into afternoon and still waiting to load

  16. Morning, I have zero experience with the CS757 so I can't post to that. However..... I very much enjoy the QW757 and feel that package is a good deal what with if all the different air-frame/rngine combinations, panels, and available liveries...money worth spent. I'm "flying" this model more then the systems heavy PMDG and Wilco 737-XXX models I own basically because of the time saved from set up to flight. I am not a pilot-commercial or otherwise so I really don't feel like I'm missing a whole lot with the mid-range panels. The plan after all is to fly the plane somewhere, not run through check-lists and proceedures designed for a crew of two. I'm a trucker here in the US-this just cuts into my mandatory break time too much sometimes when all I want to do is fly the dang plane. I am not having the fram-rate problems that others here are posting on but then, I know what this laptop is capable of and have adjusted everthing down to get the best preformance possible-little things like dynamic scenery never lit my fire anyway. My frame-rates look to be consistent with my other models. About the only issue I have is in regard to A/T which seems to jump around-overspeed one minute then okay the next. I thought this might be due to the fact that I use HIFI's weather engines in real time and that the plane might be reacting to tail or head winds and the like. It is not, however, a deal breaker for me. My 2 cents worth 73 Mark
  17. Name is Mark, I'm 45 and have been in an out of simming since our first Apple IIe. I am an active airband scanner enthusist including both VHF and HF voice, HFDL, and ACARS. I was raised in Tucson so am lucky enough to be a big time fan of the Pima Air Museum there where you can actually touch some of the real aircraft we sim with. Just makes it all the more real. In real life, I am a 48 state OTR trucker pulling both dry and refrigerated freight. I usually fly during my 10hr breaks, when sitting in customer's docks etc. I like to fly out of the nearest local strip to where ever I'm parked. Simming is the one "game" well, not a game but you know-that I can play. No levels, no seceret moves, no gathering of resources like all those other computer games. It's just flying. It's as real was one wants to get with no pressure (unless suffering cabin depressuration at FL330 on a 737-500) 73-Mark
  18. Okay...here's a question. Do you type in the headwind even if the crosswind is greater? Last time I flew the MD11, it was out of KSEA and I had a cross wind of 13kts and calculated headwind of 8kts. Mark
  19. Thanks. This is a great add-on. And maybe, in the future, will be the only way to get live weather if Jeppensen keeps headed the way they seem to be going.73Mark
  20. Morning. Are you refering to the rate of change on FSX or the Active Weather settings? I too have been really really buffetted around the skys and have watched my Citation II literally pushed backwards. Thankfully I didn't make a crater and no "sims" died.Mark
  21. I am not going to even pretend I'm some sort of computer guru so-having got that out of the way. Does anyone think or have an idea if Windows 7 and FSX will play nice together on lower end systems or laptops. This here is an off the shelf HP Dv1125 Pavillion, 4gb ram, dual core, and and ATI Radeon card with like, I think, 256mb native. I can run FSX here but everything is on the low end, depending on the publisher, model being flown.ThanksMark
