December 29, 200322 yr When I first started using FS2004 the water displayed properly in all settings (No water effects, Low, and High). However, recently I have been noticing this issue with all river and lake water (ocean water is fine). I have not added any third party textures or installed any scenery. It does not matter what settings I use, I still get this problem...My video card is a GeForce 3 Ti200, it has been working fine...Can anyone shed any light on this problem???http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/55154.jpg
December 30, 200322 yr That's odd. Are you using recent drivers? And do you have any 3rd party textures installed? Is the "render to texture" box checked?Hope this helps,-Daniel
December 30, 200322 yr No third party textures, "render to texture" is checked. My drivers are slightly dated but they have been working just fine. I just noticed these river and lake phenomenons lately. I have changed nothing on my system to speak of. I am quite perplexed.
December 30, 200322 yr Well, computers are like Hobbits I guess, most unusual creatures :-DI would try new drivers if I were you. On my old PC, with old drivers, I had very odd looking clouds - which went away with updated drivers.Of course this doesn't explain why this is just a recent phenomenon on your PC. But surely, there is an explanation, maybe Windows reverted to old drivers for whatever reason or something.Happy new year!-Daniel
December 30, 200322 yr Are u using default water textures? some 3rd party textures are not supported by every vid card + the settings should be assigned per instructions.//Mike
December 30, 200322 yr Adam Try changing the season to summer and see what happens. This will use a different texture set. By the way, a few years ago in MSFS2000 I messed up something and all my ground textures were replaced with aircraft textures! It was easy to fix but I forget how I did it. If changing season doesn't help you could try a third party texture set and landclass. Let us know how it works out.David

January 13, 200422 yr Bump...no change in problems...it seems all smaller lakes and rivers are like the above pictures...sometimes even more garbled than that...theres gotta be someone out there who knows about this or what could be causing it...
January 13, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi, delete your fs9.cfg and restart the sim. If still not working reinstall your 3d video driver cards.I want to see your display setting, 16 bits or 32 bits, using trininal or bilinar,t&l enabled or disabled etc.Be sure your rivers texture are in fs2004.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFs Kind RegardsChris Willis
