tAutopilot disengage at 100 ft. callou...

Featured Replies

Hi, would anyone know if there are autoland setting anywhere that would cause my autopilot to disengage at 100ft? It does this every time right at the 100ft call out. Any hints appreciated...

Joe, What are your FMA modes? An IAN approach (FAC / G/P or combinations with other modes like LOC / G/P) will disengage at 100 feet. Autoland is only possible with an ILS and only if both APs are engaged above 1500 feet.

Ya, I thought the only way to get it to flare was to have both ap's engaged, I'll go through it again while paying attention to the modes this time and post back ...

Ok, the problem was with the operator. When you tune BOTH NAV radios to the ILS frequency, have the correct course entered into the course window, and you activate command B AFTER you intercept the glide slope, it seems to work properly. I didn't get land 3, but it didn't cut off at what I now believe is decision height at 100 ft. This basically means I have some more studying to do. Thanks for your response Ryan.
