March 17, 200422 yr Nope. Maybe FS2006 will have that feature but FS2004 does not. If you can find a copy check out FUIII. It had that feature. I still have my copy as well as FUII to add in the San Fran area. I haven't flown it in awhile though. But I still do recall some of the great features it had way before MS even thought about them. Satelite photo textures (which so many MSFS users bashed way back when and now available for MSFS through developers like MegaScenery hehehehehe), AI planes, ATC AND emergency landings. Its just too bad that the sim did not continue and was not allowed to grow. But at least it probably gave MS some good ideas of what to include in future versions of its sim :)
March 17, 200422 yr Not with the default ATC. But if you use Radar Contact, you have a full emergency procedure realised.Bud
March 17, 200422 yr Their website ishttp://www.jdtllc.com/You'll find that you never fly IFR without it again - excellent package.Mike
March 18, 200422 yr looks interesting but where can one buy it from and is it fully FS2004 compatible yet? Not going to purchase a beta product!
March 18, 200422 yr you can buy it from the website linked above. they also have a forum on avsim. i have it working fine in fs2004 with the 3.1 patch, and i would say the performance hit is neglible.
March 18, 200422 yr >You'll find that you never fly IFR without it again ->excellent package.I've heard lots of raves about Radar Contact, but someone on the forums mentioned that it didn't synch with "Ultimate Traffic" traffic, and that they didn't like that.Could you all comment on that? Anyone have both? What's your opinion? I have UT and LOVE IT...Radar Contact sounds cool too, but if they don't synch, I think that would bother me....Any thoughts? Thanks!
March 19, 200422 yr I use both RC and UT. It is true that RC does not interact with AI traffic. However it has never been a problem for me anyway. As part of the very comprehensive manual, there is a section on using RC whilst still keeping a watch - well an ear - on the default traffic. I find that very useful and it also enables me to get the default 'chatter', which is more meaningful than RCs.Oddly enough, the only problem I've ever had with AI traffic was when I used the default ATC as a comparison. The worst example was as I landed at EGGP, ATC gave the OK for an AI plane to take off - the result was nasty!!Bud
