August 14, 201114 yr Hey guys, as the title already says, I want to know how I can change the default aircraft into the NGX as I get a freeze everytime I want to change the aircraft in the free flight menu of fsx.The only thing that seems to help is forcing FSX to close via the taskmanager twice, the third time I open FSX, I have no problems at all. Anyone any ideas how to help me? I did the tweaking as discribed in the intoduction and I installed FSX before new on a formated own drive.The "freeze hot fix" didn't help as well. August 14, 201114 yr If you set up a flight on the Free Flight page and save it, there's an option to "Make this default flight" or something along those lines... so it will load that every time with whatever aircraft and airport you have selected. You can also go into the .flt file in Notepad and change the aircraft in there if you want to, it's not hard at all. For simplicity's sake, I stick to the default Cessna as the default aircraft... one of my other addon aircraft was my default for a while and it caused all kinds of trouble. August 15, 201114 yr Try the Baron default as a default flight aircraft parked somewhere (with the Clear Weather theme as required by some weather add-ons). If you use an add-on some can depart from the FS SDK aircraft standard and will not initialize the FS engine properly. This happens before menus become available.
