Finalised build proposal for new PC

Not sure I agree with all of the advice here. I have read on some technical forums that cooling requirements are not as great for Sandy Bridge chips as they were in the past for other Intel chips, so don't bother with an expensive water cooling system, you can get away with much cheaper cooling solution. Hyper 212 is probably sufficient for decent overclock. The i2500K is all you need for FSX as FSX cannot take advantage of the main added feature of the i2600K which is hyperthreading. Ram CAS should target 7 to eliminate micro stutters, my guess is you have selected CAS9 as this is the most popular ram at the moment. As for you motherboard, just make sure it is a model that will support over clocking as other have said. One final note, the use of the CPU graphics chip is something you may actually use if you have two screens. I have my second screen going through this chip and it allows for full use of my video card for running FSX and the undocked windows run off the CPU graphics chip. Nice option that saves lots of frame rates. Mark.

Hi all, Just an update. The graphics card was withdrawn so have now switched to an ASUS GeForce GTX 560TI DCII 1024MB GDDR5. I have also switched the motherboard to a ASUS P8P67 Le Intel P67 Socket 1155 Motherboard - B3 Revision. I know that the P67 chipsets are good for overclocking and from what many of you were saying this was a better choice than the original suggested i posted above. Thanks,Shane
