i did try a 27" 1080p monitor before I purchased the 30" in my sig below. 27" with 1080p at 'computer monitor' distance is about as far as I would be prepared to go in terms of pixelation. It will be ok. But 30" at 2560x1600 is like night and day (with $$$$$ to match!)

No problem. I actually wonder how people are sitting 2-3 feet away from 40" 1080p screens. The crappy ppi would drive me bonkers! Might be ok if you only play games, but any kind of 'normal' pc work would be horrible IMHO.
