August 16, 201114 yr Hi all, So much chat in here just lately, i'm not sure if anyone has asked a similar question yet! My system spec as you can see below, isn't top end by any means, in fact it's probably quite low end, when you read some posts on here!... Looking on the PMDG website at the new 737ngx i see the minimum requirement's are ok, but the best requirements are way short. So my question is this, Will the new 737ngx work on a system like mine? Upgrades are out of the question before you all start saying 64bit and i5 or i7 processors. What's listed below is all i'm going to get for a very long time. What i will add is that my PMDG MD11 works perfectly and at a very reasonable 28fps which i'm more than happy with. I don't have any add on scenery except the title listed below, and i'm quite happy with that. Can someone please tell me if PMDG's 737NGX might one day be in my hanger or will I stay with my lovely MD11. On an aside. Has anyone heard anything about the timescale for a boxed version of the PMDG 737NGX? I might be the odd one out here, preferring the boxed version to a download version, and i realise that won't happen until the bugs are sorted. But if you don't ask you don't find out! Thanks all. Happy flying.... Happy Flying, Dave Phillips.
August 16, 201114 yr Having a full 4gb of ram would certainly help. That being said, if your MD11 runs well then the NGX should be ok. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
September 18, 201114 yr Yeah the NGX should actually run faster because it is coded better. But its all depending on the system. I would suggest looking a FSX.CFG tweaker. Its by ******* something PMDG has a link to it in their ngx manual. It boosts frames like crazy. It allows me to run any 3rd party addon and a PMDG plane with all the sliders at max and I still hit 30fps.
