August 17, 201114 yr Hello! I would like your thoughts and comments on Airbus X.Are these computer specs good enough to at least get 15 fps? Thanks! Cheers! -Jay Windows Vista Home PremiumIntel® Core™2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz3.00 GB RAMNVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS - Jay Hutchinson
August 17, 201114 yr That's a rather small system for FSX in general, but the Airbus X was designed to be very fps friendly, which derives from the fact that it stays very light on the systems. So if there are addon planes out there which may run without eating too much while still offering a kind of airliner simulation, the Airbus X may be a good one. Maybe you can ask that question over at the Aerosoft forums too and look for people with a similar system.

August 17, 201114 yr Airbus X is extremely FPS friendly in FSX. Very nice VC textures and paints. Probably one of the best out there until PMDG released the 737NGX. Make sure you understand the AirbusX limitations of the FMC as an airliner - no SIDS or STARS - except thru addons like AivlaSoft's EFB and maybe others. Lots of complaining early after release by those that didn't check the specs. I like the AirbusX a lot. I also have the JF Airbus A320 Jetliner. I look at it as a distant cousin to the Aerosoft edition. Finn has been working on a version 2.0 of the AirbusX with a lot of upgraded capabilities but it is anybodys guess as to when it will come to market. The Justf Flight edition might be a better choice for your system. If is was a just little more powerful, AirbusX would be a slam dunk recommendation from me. I did run the Aerosoft AirbusX on a Dell 8400 w/ nvidia 7950 GT w/win7-32 when it first came out. I'm not sure how your pc and the 8400 comnpare. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

August 17, 201114 yr Thanks! So the Just Flight A320 would be best for me?Cheers!-Jay The Aerosoft version is much richer, and is superior in all ways to the JF version but takes some umph to run. The JF is a 'Lite' version but is still fun to fly and looks OK. Are you flying the default FSX Airbus A321 now? The JF would be one step up or maybe two steps up. The Aerosoft would be several steps up. Just my opinion. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

August 17, 201114 yr A joystick and throttle is a system requirement along with a mouse w/wheel. So if you're running that laptop, make sure you have all that or you won't be able to fly it.
