August 17, 201114 yr Hey there, First of all I want to thank PMDG for this fantastic Addon, all the time waiting for it was definitely worth it. And the best thing is, even on my relatively old pc, it runs pretty well :) I did the tutorial flight already, without running into any major problems, and now i want to go the next step and fly "on my own". I have now a question regarding topcat, when I add a new aircraft there, under the section "Aircraft Configuration --> Configuration" which configuration do I have to choose when I want to add the 738 WL plane? It would be nice if anyone could copy/paste me the data i need to enter (or tell me where to find it ;-) ), namely for "Cargo Capacity", "Dry operating weight", "MZFW", "MTOW", and "MLW". I managed to figure out the values for Passenger capacity (189), and Fuel capacity (26020 L), but the other ones i simply couldn't find in the manual, for whatever reason :'(
August 17, 201114 yr Ryan has stated previously that PMDG will be handing over the data to TOPCAT to create profiles for the NGX series. Not sure when they'll be released. For now, hopefully somebody else can help with those weights... Brandon Burkley
August 17, 201114 yr I use the -800 ifly 737 as the weights are identical. You will need to change mtow to max of 173000 and I limit cargo capacity to 18000.I load the ac through the cdu and then enter a manual zfw in topcat.Hope this helps. Sean Green
August 17, 201114 yr You have the Weight operational limitations on the FCOM vol 1 page L.10.3 .The Dry operating weight of the specific plane modeled on FSX you can take from the FSX under the Aircraft>Fuel and payload..., under Empty weight. August 17, 201114 yr Thing is looking at the CDU and checking the payload section it looks like the max takeoff weight figure for the 800 is the same as the 900 at 79.2 x 1000 Kg according to the Payload page. Checking the FCOM vol 1 it states Typical 737-800 MTaxi = 70760 MTOW = 70533 MLW 65317 MZFW = 61688Typical 737-900 MTaxi = 79242 MTOW = 79015 MLW 66360 MZFW = 62731 So I'm in the middle of a long ish flight, can anyone check and see if the figure in a 900 is different for the MTOW? Or has PMDG just used the same figure for both variants? I'd be be surprised if they had. James Laird www.bavirtual.co.uk www.thomsonvirtual.com www.virtualwestjet.org
August 17, 201114 yr this as been posted about before - requesting weights and still goes unanswered - the FCOM weights are useless as they are generic Boeing ones, each 737 you order will be different from them - depending on spec etc. We need PMDG to publish the weights for the specific 737 they have modeled so these figures can be used - you can work some out, by loading and unloading your 737 and reading figures off the FMC, and also glean some from the Aircraft.CFG. Ref Pax numbers - I dont think they have modelled the standard pax cfg of 189 - this is another request for the SP - that not only can you choose single or Double cabin, but also the single cabin layout numbers - as you say 189 is a ryanair cabin, but some others only do 174 etc... Hopefully when PMDG bit less busy with other things, they will be able to answer the questions on all the specific weights for the NGX - as the FCOM doesnt cover this aircraft - it be useful that they provide the same also when the release the 700/600 Regards James Carr
