FSUIPC and AI percent toggles?

Featured Replies

I've been through the relevant docs a bunch of times, and I must be missing something, but I can't get the FSUIPC AI levels hotkeys to do what I want them to. Using the registered version, the way I see it, we should be able to get a three position AI percent using two hotkeys. The first is the AI percentage toggle, which turns AI off if its on and to a defines percent if its off. The second is the AI level setting which sets AI to a preset percentage. In my experience, the two will not work together. I have set the toggle to off or 100%. I have set the other to 40%. My hope was that I could turn AI down to 40% in situations where FPS was suffering but tolerable, and use the toggle to crowd the skies at 100% while cruising, and dump AI altogether while landing at KJFK or KATL, where its a zoo. however, once i use the key I've defined to set 40%, AI is stuck there and the other key seems to have no effect. If I stick to just the toggle, it seems to be on or off, as advertised. Clearly, I need some tips to figure out what I've got set up incorrectly. Is anyone else using this successfully? Thanks!sg

Don't use this myself but have just set it up without a problem.Buttons page in FSUIPCPress the button on your joystick/yoke you want to assign to toggle AI traffic. A number will appear on the right hand side in the 'Btn#' box.Tick 'Select for FS control'In the 'Control sent when button pressed' list scroll down to 'Traffic Density Toggle'Click OK.To set the density do as above but select 'raffic Density Set' from the list.In the parameter box enter the density you want, then click OK.That works.

Thanks for the reply vulcan, but that's not what I was asking.I can set the keys just fine. Problem is that when I use the key to set "traffic density set" (40% in my case), then the key I've defined as "traffic density toggle" doesn't seem to have any effect....thanks though.sg

Are you setting Hotkeys or Buttons? My description of setting joystick buttons does exactly what it should. On button sets the AI percentage I (actually you :-)) want and the other button switches that value on or off.If I go into the Traffic settings after pressing the percentage button the density is set to 50 (my value). If I press the toggle button density is back to 0, a second press it is back to 50.As I said, works a treat, unless I am misreading your posts or missing something obvious.:-hmmm

I was setting hotkeys. I'll give the buttons a try, although I don't see why it should be any different with keys, and real estate on my stick is minimal. What I see:Press on/off toggle: AI goes from 100% to 0%. Press it again, I get a loading traffic progress bar, then it's 100%.Press traffic set: AI goes to 40%.Press on/off toggle: AI stays at 40% no matter what. What I was hoping was that I could use the toggle to then turn AI to 0% and back to 100%...)I have 100% in the toggle parameter box.)Thanks for your input. I'll have to fiddle some tonight!Best,sg

Should work with keys but it is easier for me to use the stick as I know which 2 buttons are free :-)Press on/off toggle: AI stays at 40% no matter what. What I was hoping was that I could use the toggle to then turn AI to 0% and back to 100%...)I have 100% in the toggle parameter box.)Now I am confused.First set the traffic density. The toggle button will toggle between zero and whatever density you set, it wil NOT set it to 100% (unless that is the density you set)HTH
