January 9, 200422 yr Can't agree 100% with that. I believe there is a problem, and, I think, so does both PMDG and Damian at HiFi Sims. It is stated clearly in the 737NG manual that PMDG does not recommend the use of 3rd party weather add ons and if you look at the Active Sky Forum you will see notes of some difficulties. Damian has written to PMDG in an effort to get the issues resolved, but the last time I looked, he'd had no response.I've had just one prob - on approach to Dublin Airport at around 2000 ft, the glideslope was lost and the NG began a steep climb. I've repeated this flight with the default ATC and Radar Contact and the key seems to be the height of LOC intercept. No prob with the default ATC which tends to order a low level intercept. RC on the other hand had the intercept at 4100 ft and that's when the plane initiated its own go around.Bud
January 9, 200422 yr That is contraray to what I see. AS2004 and SU2 work beautifully toghether- expect for the occasional panel flicker. My wind transitions are fairly smooth too.The combination is really sweet to fly with :)Tim
January 9, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Bud,As you said we cannot confirm or deny official compatibility from PMDG's end yet. Fortunately I DID hear back from PMDG and while they are busy at the moment, they will be writing me back very soon with hopefully all the information we need to either confirm no problems or to code around such problems for full compatibility.FWIW, I have been using the 737NG almost exclusively now for 2 weeks during my test flights, and have found no problems at all... As to losing the glideslope, I can't see how that would be related to AS2004, but will keep my eyes open..-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 10, 200422 yr Hello DamianI agree it is an odd one. I use the NG exclusively now in my home cockpit and have used A/S for weather in all its versions. I love the latest and hope very much that the issue I referred to above is a one-off. I'll continue to use both progs and see what happens.Bud
January 11, 200422 yr Check out the PMDG forum. There is a discussion on the "steep climb" problem being related to a fully deflected rudder.--qnh Scott
