January 8, 200422 yr Hello Dear People, I have just had a rude shock, after what I thought was the best flight I have made in a long time.Details:SIM: FS2002 Pro, with ActiveSky wxRE 1.91, and FS real time. In addition to this, I have just implemented, for the first time ever, today WideFS 5.4, which interfaces with FSUIPC 2.975.I departed from KSMO, for KOAK. Everything was fine prior to, and at take-off. After leaving the ground, I noticed that the frame rates were very good (19.5 FPS average; I have it limited to 20FPS)all through the flight, and I was very pleased. I figured that it was because I had moved wxRE and FSRealtime to the WideFS client. When I was on the glide slope into 27R at KOAK, I looked for the airfield, but saw nothing but a wide expanse of land! I landed where I figured the runway should have been.I checked my scenery library incase something was disabled, but could not find any problems. I then relocated the Dash 8 to KSMO, only to discover the airport there had disappeared as well! No buildings, no runway no nothing.I tried one last place...ENBR, Flesland, Norway ( I have added Norway airports to my scenery) only to find that that too was missing.I then rushed straight here in shock and awe to find out if anyone had seen this happen before, and knows how to fix it.
January 9, 200422 yr Too many people playing with CTD's I think :-)Try renaming your FS9.CFG file first and see if this helps. Otherwise I would do a re-install.--qnh Scott
January 9, 200422 yr It happened the same to me a time ago, not only airports dissapeared, but VORs, intersections, everything (Just in an area of the Map, from Colombia to the north of Argentina). Although I don't use many of those airports, I wasn't able to operate from/to some brazilian ones that I like. The question is: Have you been setting scenery or AI traffic, including airports and flightplans? When that happened to me I had been doing a lot of work in both, and suddenly I found a whole section of the map was empty. In any case, the only solution I found was to uninstall FS2002 and reintall it. January 9, 200422 yr Did you try just exiting FS and restarting? In FS2002, I sometimes have lost my NAVAIDs and GPS information for anything on the ground, plus any parking and runway information. This typically happens when I don't restart FS after saving an AFCAD file. I exit FS, re-save the AFCAD and restart. So far, it's worked every time.
January 9, 200422 yr Author No Capt, I did not....it was pretty late and I had to go to bed anyway. Thanks for the reply and best regards
