September 2, 201114 yr When flying at times I get a message that I can only land with a certain weight, usually I am above that weight- How do I handle that problem? Do I somehow need to dump some fuel and if so, how exactly is that handled on the control panel? Or are there other means to rectify the situation.Carolyn D
September 2, 201114 yr Hi, You have either loaded your aircraft too much and/or you have too much fuel onboard for your planned trip. To get rid of some fuel, you can use the fuel dump switcht on the overhead. Fuel dumping is automatic on the MD11, but calculate how much weight you need to loose and use the fuel totolizer as reference to stop.It is a expensive way to fly specially if you fly for a Va. You can go to the PMDG folder on the taskbar of FS9 or FSX and retype the fuel load to a lesser value. hope this is of some help, Bob
September 2, 201114 yr Sorry for my bad English!Draining of the fuel is not allowed in real life. (emergency only on specially provided airspace)The elegant art and is done as it ... before landing is to ask for a Holding at the ATC. So tell him you have too much fuel. You have to stay in as long as you hold up under the maximum landing weight. You can do it even if you are flying offline. In the ATC menu select "other approach"!(Available to start after the ATC you wanted to assign vectors and runway.)Select the runway of the ATC had chosen! Now, select a transition! (unfortunately not every airport has them in the simulator.)Once open select the transition from the holding in FMC! (Read in the FMS manual if you do not know how!)Sounds hard to but it's quite easy.Lufthansa Cargo has always reach for the goal of 15 tons of fuel aboard. So I get along well with my flight planning.Regards Mandy Broschk
