How to: Clean Uninstall the NGX?

Featured Replies

i thougt the hot fix would help me, but after i installed, i have noticed the ngx bouncing around, while changing the views...and the feeling FPS dropping a bit more...so i tried to uninstall the ngx. but serveal ordners still exist, i even can run the livery manager.. so how can i uninstall the ngx clean? cause i dont want the hotfix being installed?

CCleaner. Run a registry clean. Go through the gauges, effects, PMDG and simobjects folders and delete anything NGX related

CClean is the best registry cleaner I've ever used. Takes a few passes sometimes but still very effective

Once you run it, I believe the option you want is called registry, run it once, use the option to create a backup. Run it 2 or 3 more times (only backup the first time) or until it returns no registry errors.Another useful tool in cclean is the ability to remove entries from "add/remove peograms" in your control panel. For those pesky UNO staplers that are still in the list after you've uninstalled something.Stupid iPhone autocorrect. "UNO staplers" = uninstallersEdit: I like to restart the computer after I'm done running it but I dunno if that's required

1st use the Livery manager to uninstall any liveries. Then use the installer to uninstall the NGX.It will delete everything except the PMDG folder in FSX.It does not delete that in case you have other PMDG planes installed. If you don't you can safely delete the PMDG folder. The uninstall procededure also sorts out your registrary for you.

If you browse to the pmdg/ngx folder there should be a txt file that gives version number I believe. Hotfix2 was 1.00.2916, hotfix3 is 1.00.2922. That should give a reference point at any rate...

Don't forget that the original install had read-only aircraft.cfg files. You'll have to go into all 4 folders & fix that manually if you're avoiding hotfixes
