Hi: No matter what I try to do, I can't make the engine sounds lower in the NGX. I LOVE the sounds, but they are drowning out everything else like my background ATC chatter, my FS Passengers .wav files, and even the Radar Contact controllor at times. I have tried to adjust each of the 8 or 9 sound settings in the FMC. The only thing that makes even a small difference is the parameter called "ambience". Is there a way to get things more "balanced"? Thanks, Chris Catalano

HUH? WHAT??? I CAN'T HEAR YOU! Kidding: Try playing around with the stuff in the FSX sound menu...I haven't touched the FMC-configurable sound options yet but i'll try it out.

I don't think you're meaning the engine sounds, but rather the wind and cockpit fan sound file(s). Those are very realistic as is, but if you want to reduce them you'll likely need a sound editor like Audacity.
