September 7, 201114 yr Has anyone run into the issue when the FSX ATC window stops opening with the "`" command? Usually it starts of working just fine, and somewhere through my pre-flight preparations, it stops working. I experience this with NGX sometimes and haven't been able to confirm what causes this. Note, I can get to the window by going to the menu bar, but I simply can't toggle it on or off with the "`" key -- this pretty much makes it unusable. Hope someone's encountered this and has a solution. Thanks,Sam Kharey
September 7, 201114 yr I will try that and let you know if it happens ! I have noticed that when raising your eyepoint with SHIFT + ENTER that in Windows 7 it only works when you are on the ground. It does not work in the air. This has nothing to do with NGX and will happen with the default 737 even. Has anyone noticed this ? Jason. I've had this happen a few times but only on the outdated hotfixes. A flight reload wouldn't fix it. Nor would switching planes. I remembered having to actually reboot the sim. It happened most often when resuming a flight in progress through loading a saved flight. Hasn't happened at all to my knowledge, whilst starting a fresh flight on the ground/at the gates. Kind Regards, Dan Wela
September 7, 201114 yr Make sure you don't see the green box in the CDU. That's the one youwill see if you type the entries via keyboard. If that green outline box is lit, mostnon letter keys will be frozen. I know for sure it freezes the FSX ATC button.. Others too..If it's green, just click it and it will go back to normal mouse use..If not that.. ?? Mark Keith
September 7, 201114 yr Check your keyboard type in the bottom right of your task-bar if your Windows is configured something. For example, I have to switch between standard US keyboard (for most things) and Canadian-Multilingual-Standard for others. I think there's some ambiguous Windows hot-key that if you press Shift or Ctrl a couple times (as when re-adjusting your viewpoint in FSX)...it will switch keyboards. For example ~ on the US Keyboard is / on the multilingual one. / on the US is à on the multilingual things! Really throws things off. Patrick Houghton
September 7, 201114 yr I would echo what Mark said. The most common cause of ignored key commands is the CDU text entry mode (green box on CDU). The second best way to get rid of the issue is to buy Radar Contact 4. Trevor Moore
September 7, 201114 yr Author For example, I have to switch between standard US keyboard (for most things) and Canadian-Multilingual-Standard for others. I think there's some ambiguous Windows hot-key that if you press Shift or Ctrl a couple times (as when re-adjusting your viewpoint in FSX)...it will switch keyboards. This seems like a very viable solution! Thanks - I'll give this a shot tonight. My "CTRL+SHIFT+1" has been assigned to something and I suspect it's causing the problem. It's definitely not a CDU focus issue as some of the others have suggested. Thanks guys for all the input,Sam Kharey
