January 11, 200422 yr I can only very occasionally get multiplayer and SBRelay to connect together. I have re-installed Directx (latest version), SB, joined as a "naked" host and attempted to re-connect, typed in 127.0.0.1, changed port settings, removed firewalls (including XP), antuivirus software, run in Full Screen and still when I press "search" in the multiplayer connect box nothing happens. I have looked for answers in many newsgroups, read tutorials in VATSIM, re-read readme files with SBRelay etc. etc. but been unable to find an answer. I have a new AMD 3000+ with a NVIDA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra Graphics card and 1000 meg Ram with XP Professional
January 12, 200422 yr This can be a problem depending on what extra hardware, if any, you have.If you have not already done so I suggest looking at the new Pilot Resource Center, there are numerous 'how to's' for connecting there.http://vatsim.net/prc
January 12, 200422 yr This is how I do it- it's worked this way on three different PCs(of widely varing configurations)-Assuming you have all the software(SBRelay,SB,AVC or RW,FSUIPC etc etc.)I'm sure you have.1;Connect to internet.2:start SBRelay3:start FS9.when started select fly now.4:Flights/Multiplayer/Connect/.Should show SBRelay session ,Highlight and join5:start SBhost, start SB .do not fill in the IP box when you get there, should then show the game and start SB up .6:Connect SB,should start AVC/RW .7: File flightplan etc and fly.I only once had to fill in the IP 127.0.0.0 on one of the PCs ,and then only the very first connection attempt- thereafter it always found the game.(never filled it in on the other two)Firewall is disabled,AntiVirus switched off.A good place to get a step by step talk through manual for connecting is Andy Kings site herehttp://www.hawarden.org.uk/Good luckDave
January 13, 200422 yr I found that if I use the addon host program to run SB in, connections happen very few and far between. If I use the host program (which is really a pain) that came with SB, I get instant connections. For me problems arise when using the add-on host (i believe it is host.dll). Harry
January 15, 200422 yr Author Unfortunately I have tried all the above and still no success. I have found that flying VATSIM with AI can be fun and certainly adds trafffic around you. Wish VATSIM ATC could see the aircraft I can see but FS9 controller can so I get some realism. I just ask VATSIM for a different approach then the one FS9 is using if necessary.
January 23, 200422 yr I think, if you have problem connect multiplayer in FS9, I had the problem too, my solution .. change deafults port 23456 on FS9 client to another .. I use 23457 .. because SBrealy opened port 23456.
March 24, 200422 yr Author SBRELAY wrote .. change port in setting client multiplayer to 0 probably, or another one, not use standard port 23456, too many people help this solution .. :)
