September 8, 201114 yr When ever I start FSX\ Gold\ Accel. My autopilots show a preset altutide of 2000'; Like if this has been saved from a previous flight? I fix it by zeroing it. But how can I get it like before; It showed the zeros, before I started a flight?
September 8, 201114 yr Author Luke, thanks for your reply,Yes all a/c...The altitude is preset to 2000' and the Appr. light is active As I wrote below I don't know if it got saved form a previous flight, but is like the FSX.cfg file saved it and now this is the problem
September 8, 201114 yr Heres what mine looks like, and i have 0 saved flights FSX.cfg : [uSERINTERFACE]PageID=1OpenATCOnCreate=0SHOW_MISSION_CAPTIONS=0PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=0PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1SITUATION=FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM << what does your say here?Map_Orientation=2ect ect Regards Luke M
September 8, 201114 yr Author Hey Luke I do have apreset flight to start from my local airport here In Dk Copenhagen Kastrup on a short flight to EKRK, Here my lines in my FSX.cfg: [uSERINTERFACE]PageID=1OpenATCOnCreate=0SHOW_MISSION_CAPTIONS=0PAUSE_ON_LOST_FOCUS=1PROMPT_ON_EXIT=1SITUATION=c:\users\lopez\documents\flight simulator x files\Kastrup to Roskilde IFR Default.FLTMap_Orientation=2ShowAllACPaintSchemes=1SelectAircraftManufacturer=AllSelectAircraftPublisher=AllSelectAircraftType=All If I were ot have the SITUATION = Line like yours where would the sim start from default with the Ultralight in the air? I cna also get it to start there by adding two (//) in front of the saved flight in the FSX.cfg.
September 8, 201114 yr If you set it like mine is, when you open fsx in free flight mode you'll be in the microlight, and defult starting piont is airborn above friday horbour ( KFHR ). Try opening FSX, free flight, select your a/c, go to flght planner and make your flight plan (Kastrup to Roskilde) and save it. ( this automatically move you to the departing airport in the flight plan) After saving the flight plan, fsx will go bk to the free flight screen. There is a save button...save the flight.shut down FSX, and reopen, and you should be good to go.Your a/c should load up, with the flight plan loaded, and at the departing airport on the flight plan. Basically, creat the same flight you have now, but do a fresh. Regards Luke M
September 8, 201114 yr Author Hey Again Luke, ,Exactly what I did while waitng for a reply, from you...I checked my saved flight under documents win7, deleted them all and started the sim default Friday Harbour flying the Ultralight over the (KFHR) then I paused it and created myflight after choosing the Cessna 172. The a/p alt. showed 0000 ...Then I continued to create the Flght as I say above. ( Didn't get to go back to the freeflight screen)...Saved the flight and loaded it..Now it loads with the altimeter setting in the a/p showing zeros "0000" Flew that flight, because I have itset to practice that ILS approach and all is good. Now! I remembered what happened! I closed FSX while on the final approach of the ILS landing at some point...The phone rang or something like that? Then FSX for some reason saved the a/p setting? Now after creating a new Default flight, eventhough I don't get the box at the bottom left," Make this your default Flight" It opens at the default I just created. Thanks Luke.
September 8, 201114 yr Glad to be of assistance 1 more thing. It sounds like you dont have '' Show opening screen'' selected in the seetings, under General tab. When i open FSX, with this setting applied, it allows me to select everything i want....A/c, airport i want to start at, flight plan, weather , fuel, ect ect before i start flying. Like this : Regards Luke M
September 8, 201114 yr Author Hi Luke, I do have show opening screen check in my settings and it shows my default starting from here Kastrup, local time and the a/c I chose the C172; even though it has a hard time climbing to 4000' during this flight and covering the distance. I always load the flight first...Then I change aircraft, load weather etc,etc...If I want ot make another flight I simply create another in the flight planner and get intructions from ATC. I read somewhere that it was a good practice to once in while to let FSX load the its' default flight at Friday Harbour. So what I do is to open the FSX.cfg and add, temporarily two (//) in front of the line...Let it load that flight and fly it...Then I close FSX remove the two (//) and continue with my defaul. I was adviced at the feelthere.com forum by the moderator Scubby to not load this way, he explained another procedure, which I don't undertand and I personaly don't care much for his language. My way is according to the "HELP" section in FSX and it works just like yours, as they say if it ain't broken don't fix it. Thansk for going through all this trouble to help me
