Nope, the 590 will run like a dog, avoid at all costs

Would the GeForce GTX 590 3072MB be preferred over the GTX580 ?
Nope, stay with GTX580. Awesome card for FSX. Especially eats that IQ that we like feeding it!

A 580 will run FSX better. A 590 will get hot and only run like a 570 cos FSX can only use one core.

FSX was tested HT-on/off, no difference, not worse or better.
Really, I have seen turning it off not only increase FSX performance, but increase boot times. I suppose every system is different.
