Hello I have just started using ASE after a long break and having an anomoly with Winds aloft, over the last several days when I have checked the winds aloft data in the report screen its always coming from the 250-290 degrees no matter what australian airport I am sitting at, I have checked I am downloading current weather, all TAF airport information is accurate, am i misunderstanding the winds aloft data. Either way even if its only for a particular region I would expect winds aloft would not always be in the 250-290 directional range, is winds aloft really that predictable from a directional point of view, thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question Wayne

Hello, Winds aloft source data resolution is at 60x60nm (1deg lat/lon) over the globe, which is then consolidated into the available physical and "additional" weather stations within FS. Generally the winds aloft does not vary significantly until you move a significant distance (200nm or more), and even them may be very similar depending on the upper air patterns. The aloft winds also tend to stay similar for a given length of time, influenced by things like the jet stream, significant pressure differentials and localized air patterns.
