September 22, 201114 yr Hi All, Lately I have noticed the plane is not following the flight plan heading but is pretty much following an adjacent course parallel to the magenta line and when try to bring the aircraft over to the magenta course via a manual course change, the sim gives me a fatal error message. Any thoughts and I know I am not explaining the situation in technical terms so forgive a newbie. Skip Ciman

Skip CimanJust a suggestion, first check that you have not increased your view of your ND panel(panel where you see your flightplan course in magenta). If you have then it will give you a parallelax error, the clue being that you have just stated it follows an adjacent course. If it was way off beam, then it would not be adjacent. If you are using a flight planning software such as FlightSim Commander or Aivlasoft's EFB, you can ascertain for certain if in fact your MD-11 is tracking a filed flightplan correctly. Then look at your Events Log to see what is generating the error message. Rick Almeida
September 26, 201114 yr Author Tnx VC10man for the suggestions. Since I have posted I did what you have suggested with no results. I have also deleted and reinstalled the MD-11 and ran from a cold and dark startup all with the same results. The plane on the display lines up abt 5 degrees off from the true heading on the flight plan and flies adjacent to the magenta course. Even when doing ILS approaches, the plane lines up adjacent to the runway on the same side as the display indicates on a flight plan and needs to be flown in manually lined up on the runway. Using FSC9, I get the same read out, that is the plane flies adjacent to the flight plan heading. I am not saying it is the MD-11 only as of now. I will have to try the FSC Concorde which I also fly ILS approaches and see if it is also the case with that plane. Maybe it is another addon that has triggered this problem and I was hoping maybe someone else has encountered this problem and could give me the wisdom of their experiences before I head down a long uncertain road of finding a culprit. It ran well for so long and now is frustrating to see the gremlims or operator error ruin a great sim. Skip Ciman

Boy, your problem has now got me scratching my head trying to help you, and quite frankly, I'm stumped. Have you tried opening a Support Ticket with PMDG? Those guys, specially Ryan, are very helpful. I suggest you give them a try. Might be a faulty install file, might be one or several other things, on the other hand might be something very simple. Sorry cannot assist any more. Rick Almeida
October 1, 201114 yr Author Rick, Tnx for all the suggestions and esp. for the support ticket option which I did open and tech said to run the Flight1 Registry Fix and all is well agn. I did not even consider this option when trying to solve this problem but live and learn and that is what I did. I should keep a log on problems and fixes that I have seen over the years because with my memory as it is, I'm sure this problem will hit me agn and I will open a new thread looking for help. LOL. Tnx agn, Skip
