Here's a print of what im seeing on dxtbmp and/or photoshop: Thank u very much!
September 23, 201114 yr Your screenshot is too small to tell, but it looks like you are trying to paint the bumpmap instead of the diffuse. regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 23, 201114 yr Author yeah, its the bumpmap but its the only textures i have of the exterior in the folder (the others are all interior textures). As this is my first attempt to repaint an aircraft I dont know if I should convert this file or what.thank u for the help
September 23, 201114 yr According to their website (I don't own this plane) a blank texture is included. I suspect the folder you are looking in is named "texture" and contains fallback textures available to all liveries. Keep looking for another set of blank textures. If a white version is available in the sim, the aircraft.cfg will point you to the correct folder. regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 25, 201114 yr Author N60JBravo, You were correct, I by mistake was trying to repaint the files from the wrong folder, newbie i am =(Today, with the correct files I started to make my first repaint of a Susi Air Caravan, its not perfect but im pretty satisfied for a first repaint. I basically finished the colour scheme of most of it an now I want to place the Susi Air logo, the Tail number and write "PropJet" in the nose and here I have 2 problems1 - Firsty, I coulndt find on Photoshop the same font Susi Air planes uses for their tail number and the "PropJet", is there any place where I could get the right font or a way to use some picture and add these?2 - I tried to place the Susi Air logo in the right place but the white background of the image stays over the details of the fuselage + the differente colour, how could I manage to do that right?below are pictures of my repaint with the issues + a pic of the real airplane (taken by me when I was a Susi Air Pilot =) cheers
September 25, 201114 yr As far as the logo goes, there are a couple ways to do this. If your lucky there is a vector logo available for you. Google "vector logo" and you will find there are several websites that offer them. Vector images are cool in that you can resize them without any lose of quality. If there is no vector logo for you then hopefully you can find a good picture of the logo and copy/paste it to a new layer, then move/transform it into position. Then you can duplicate it with the pen tool or sometimes the magic wand. You can do the same with the reg number. Or spend days searching the web for what may be a custom font created by whoever painted the plane. To remove the white background go to this great painter's resource- http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/ Specifically, go to- http://www.simmerspa...intshop-pro-11/ and get Remove White. Great picture! Looks like a fun place to fly a great plane like the Caravan. regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
October 4, 201114 yr Hi, to get rid of the white, you can also use the 'magic eraser tool', just click on the white and it's gone, and then a second click for the inside of the 'A'. For the 'propjet', check my Pacific Wings paints (link, in the ned I handpainted those letters I believe. to get the details of the white paint, like rivets and panellines to shine through your paint, I always put the layer with the white textures ABOVE my own paint and then set it to 'multiply' in the layers menu, works perfect. All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2
