September 25, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member found the answer Forcing a DPIf your first checkpoint is further than 30 miles from your departure field, RC defaults to “NoDep Proc” being checked in the Dep Procedures column on the Controller Info. thanks Clive Joy
September 26, 201114 yr If your first checkpoint is within 30 nm of departure it is assumed that you are flying a SID/DP. The only choices are the type of restriction whether RC monitors climb rate (altitude restrictions) or not (no alt. restrictions) to your assigned altitudes within the 30 nm radius. If your first waypoint is outside of the 30 nm departure boundary then all three options are available. With No Dep Procedure you get vectors and altitudes to line you up with that first waypoint outside of 30 nm. In this No Dep Procedure instance when RC tells you to resume your own navigation that is a direct to that next checkpoint from your present position, not a return to your original path.
